Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Well, timing was good last night! Penny, my jacobs sheep, was just standing around with her head hung low....I felt her udder and she was filling up so I jugged her. This morning I went down to check on her and she had her lamb! A little ram. So cute!

So happy for this warmer weather

Loving the warmer weather as well, the girls are out enjoying being out. The only one not happy is Miss Belle, her feet and belly are all wet from the snow melt.

Congrats!!

What does it mean, you "jugged her"?
A 'jug' is a small pen usually used for birthing livestock...'jugged' would be to put an animal into said 'jug'.

Ah, that's too early, DH and I were actually talking about setting the eggs April 1st. I'm discussing it with DH now though, I do have a bunch of unwashed eggs....... hmmmmmm.

March is the start of the wet and muddy. While I'm tired of the snow, I hope it goes off slow. A gradual melt allows the soil to absorb the water instead of it racing off to fill the rivers to flood stage. Last year's melt resulted in swollen streams, flooded boat launches, and river levels too high to fish safely.

By the time water levels had receded most steelhead had come and gone. Hopefully this year will be much better. I think Wednesday I'll try the lower Huron. Walleye is still open so maybe I'll pick up both them and steelhead.
