Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Yes I am home. I had to take a nap right after eating a bit of lunch. Everything went well. They did find a bit of blockage in one minor artery to the heart. But since they are going to replace the aorta and vavle, they will probably fix that too.

Next step is to send the results to the specialist and make an appointment for the open heart.

The only thing that has really concerned me is finding someone to help care for my animals when I go to hospital.
I am sorry to hear they found an blockage and that you need to undergo open heart surgery. My youngest had a valve repair and some other things done in February. They can do wonderful things now. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Sorry I am not closer to you to help out with your flock. When are they planning surgery? Maybe someone or several close members can keep you covered.

Hi everybody. I've been lurking and learning here for awhile but I thought it was time to say hi

. I've got a mixed backyard flock of 2 araucana, 1 easter egger, 1 Amber white, 1 barred rock, 2 buff Orpington and a Wyandotte rooster. I'm getting some meat birds this summer. I think the roo will be going for a ride with those meat birds this summer. His new nickname is stew

. Anyway I just thought I would introduce myself. Oh and I'm sure you guessed but I'm a Yooper from near escanaba.

Hi and welcome to BYC and the Michigan Group!

Said to say it but Zack passed away this morning. I think even if he was still around this morning we was probably going to take him to the vet.

Dug a grave for him in mom's flower garden, where some of our other dogs are at. Hit a little bit of frost digging down, but not really a rock hard frost.

Wow sorry, I know how attached I get to my dogs. 15 years may be a long time for a dog but a very short time for a friendship..

Thanks for your good wishes. I'm glad to have you folks as friends.

It was a good thing that I changes the sap jugs this morning. I'm getting a good flow today. Should have another 3 gallons today to add to the 5 gallons on the counter. I should be boiling this weekend.
good look with the boil ,not to many bug parts

Do not like!!!

Glad you are doing good, RaZ. Like others have stated, wish I were closer to you so I could help you out with your critters. Hope you are able to find someone so you can relax about it. Know what stress it causes to worry about your furry and feathered kids!

I don't think our older dog is doing all that well tonight, he keeps kinda hacking like he wants to throw up tonight. Starting to wonder if its about his time. Miss Belle would be so sad to loose her grandpa.
Welcome to Mi BYC so good to see so many new people joining. welcome to chicken madness:highfive: sorry about you dog, always hard to loose them but some times they surprise you and last a lot longer then you think:hugs

Here's a couple of a tree on my property. I have I think 5 like these. Not sure if it's a maple or not. Here's one of my RIRs, laying on it's back for some reason while I was petting it. Seems to like belly rubs? The rest are of my murder of crows.... I mean, black australorp pullets
A picture of the leaves would be morehelpful in id the tree...

Condolences..
We know from the minute we let them into our hearts, that one day they will break them.
The joy we gain by loving them will, in time, once again outweigh the sadness they can bring to our lives.

I lost 14yo Libby a couple years ago,
had a vet appointment for when my daughter was coming to visit, but Libby passed one night before that came about.
Kind of glad she went on her own, at home, her last evening was memorable - I knew she wouldn't make it thru the night, it was time.
