With a bit o yeast and time, he can turn a bit of that syrup into a marvelous ambrosia! :D
Oh, he was looking up that mead thing the other night. Many years ago he made some strawberry wine. I didn't like it but he and his parents did. But I've not liked ANYBODY's strawberry wine, homemade or commercial.

I want him to try blackberry but these last few years the wild blackberries and weather have not cooperated.

Hatch is over.....got 8 OE chicks.

aww congrats

Here are some pictures of most of the Jill Rees Cream Legbar chicks I hatched. There are still a few slow ones left out of the picture. I've noticed significantly less color variation simply by culling 2 light colored males and only keeping my best rooster in the pen with the ladies. There's a second rooster I like who will be my back up. The last 2 Rees roosters I have are still looking for new homes. Lol!

I steer clear of FB. Although I signed in today to send a note of inquires about the birds....

I don't really need the encouragement. We/we are trying to focus on production right now to have a good foundation for our hobby. Right now the focus is on eggers and sought after ornimentals. The market that we have access to for the more exotic animals is not a local one.

Talk of exotic...the buff and the lavender leghorns! Drool! But I don't want to deal with those big combs....

I got some chicks this weekend, too.Dark cornish/dominque cross. Apparently no eggs from my dark cornish hens hatched because there are no chipmunk colored chicks! These all look similar to purebred doms. Ah well. They're still cute.
