Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I have read quite a few people on here say that there is no place for a mean roo at their house...
I would have to agree with them
I ate mine...

I want to get rid of mine, either eating it myself or giving it away to be eaten, but my husband swears the rooster will get better. I know this not to be true, but he just won't listen. I did tell him that if it gets much worse, I will be going over his head and getting rid of the mean little thing.

But as for the refusing to go into the coop tonight, is he in danger of freezing to death?

Good morning everyone, and rise and shine lazy bones!!!!! Its 1:40 am!!! :D

Got a new job last week, well actually 2 part time jobs. They are both mostly in the mornings. One every Saturday morning at 2 am, and the other at every morning at 3 am. They are both dairy farms. I milk the cows there. They both are less than 5 miles away!!! Woot!!! Praise God!!!

Been very busy and a lot of catching up to do. I will post more updates when I get back home. Again Good morning everyone, and rise and shine lazy bones!!!!!

Well... he hasn't had his leg surgery yet because the day before his surgery, he ended up with an intestinal blockage (actually glad it happened before the surgery). After multiple trips to the vet for xrays, I'm happy to report the rock has exited Gino this morning. I'll reschedule the leg surgery in a couple weeks to make sure he's fully recovered from his rock eating.

Thanks so much for asking..... I love my doggies!
A rock wow, I bet he's glad it's out. One of our Boxers swallowed whole corn cobs, we didn't know it until a week later they came up. Disgusting!
Just popping in for a quick second to ask a question: I just went outside, and to my surprise my rooster was on my front porch! He doesn't want to go into his coop, apparently. I'm worried that it is too cold for him to be out like this, however, he is very aggressive, and there is no way I'm going to be able to get him into the coop without being attacked. He's actually becoming a problem, because he chased the meter reader lady out of our yard the other day because she got too close to the hens. Anyway, this is the first time he has ever refused to go into the coop? Has anyone else experienced this before and if so, what did you do?
Your rooster will get worse not better when he thinks he's the boss. I love my chickens and roosters but don't keep a bad one you'll end up hurt.

It makes me tired just reading about it! I'm glad it is a good thing!

Rainy, wet, cold yucky, but maybe it will be busy enough I won't notice.

Good morning everyone
Hey there, long time! Still no "real computer" to work from since the iphone is just a pain and my DW's desk is too small. Looking for another goat so if anyone knows/has a doe(ling). I'd like another toggie but what I really need is a friend for Shirley. Not looking to spend a fortune since I just unloaded a grand on Shirley and her new digs. I have baby bunnies! Both the NZ and FG birthed last weekend. Anyone that wants one needs to plan for about 8-10 weeks from now. PM me or as always [email protected]. I just lost my RIR roo from his flock. Got sick real quick and had to be culled. I hope it ends there. Sometime I need to ask Wynette a question about this Olive Egger I got from HH. It's white and quite a strange looking chicken. Pretty soon my duck (the one that chases my ACD around the yard) is going to lose his pond to the winter weather. I just don't know how he's going to make it through the snowy season. Poor guy. Hope everyone is doing good out there. looks like a rainy weekend here on the west coast of Michigan.

I'm still trying to make up my mind about driving up to Fowl Fest. Maybe more coffee will help get me motivated to go.

Alright...you got me...I know what a NZ is but what is a FG?

Aaah yes!!! Thank you! I had seen it before, but for the life of me could not remember.

Slow start to the morning here...can just not seem to wake up...was up WAY too late last night, and I'm just tired and hungry. I'm making waffles and getting kids ready for soccer games and cold weather. I also win the worst mom ever award...got the kids all fitted for their costumes last night and went to start making them so we could go to the trick or treat walk today, and yeah...I left my foot pedal at the co-op class I teach...after hand sewing one seam for an hour, i gave up and they have no costumes right now. :( I'll get them done though...

on a lighter note I think I am going to get two new ladies today, which I'm super excited about...a Rouen female and a Cayuga Female (just love those gorgeous ducks) and best part...they are almost EXACTLY the same age as my Darkwing!!!! :D
