Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I have a Welsummer cockerel, 4 weeks old, that will need to find a new home. He is out of some of Bargain's eggs, really lovely color, if anyone is looking for a nice purebred. He is very friendly. I am driving down to Lansing this weekend, so could bring him along if anyone was interested.

(one is a Delaware egg)

Anyone get chicks, meaties or layers, from Townline 4 weeks ago that are failing to thrive?

I've got some freedom Rangers, Cornish cross and ameraucana that are about 2 weeks old and everyone is doing great. I did an order through the local feed mill.

Gator blades are the bomb, way better than standard blades ...but sometimes in really long grass taking a partial cut width is needed.
They do take some maintenance, worth it in IMO..and you'l have better performance if you only use JD belts(they are a slightly different angle than aftermarket belts).

Do you have a 2 or 3 blade deck?

It's a 2 blade deck. 38". I'm about halfway done reinstalling it. I've had a few other projects running simultaneously. (Looks like the Mrs' dad's string trimmer needs an ignition coil.)

Speaking of Welsummers, I'd like some at some point. That's what I wanted my flock to be originally. I may be looking for some in the future if anyone keeps em/hatches them. I'm not allowed to bring home anything new for a while though, I got in some BIG trouble with the ducks :-o lol. I also am pretty much at capacity in the coop. I'll likely be down a bird soon now that it's confirmed I have 2 roosters. They don't appear to have started fighting much yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. I'm monitoring them very closely.
