Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

We have a chicken that has shown himself to be a rooster. He's a golden sebright bantam, would anyone care to add him to your flock? He's about 14 weeks old. Not mean, just loud. :)

Here's a video of my 2 pekins after their water time today. You can see the difficulty they're both having. I started a thread in the duck section about it as well to track progress as I work to help them.

How much is every one charging for eggs at farmers markets this year? I was told to raise my prices because of the egg shortage. It that really changing prices already?
I won't increase my prices unless chicken feed goes up.
I based my price between what other similar keepers are charging locally and what it costs me to feed the birds.

People are freaking out, feeding on the drama of shock and awe, typical media BS.....
....tho I haven't actually checked to see if grocery prices are going up, as it wouldn't change that my prices are based on feed conversion and nothing else.

We paid around 2 bucks a dozen for chicken eggs and 4 a dozen for duck eggs.

I was planning to try and sell mine for around 2.50ish at work assuming I have overages.

sure wish I knew something about ducks, wannahome, they sure look like they are having trouble, poor things.

eggs in the store are $3. and up around here, I sell my eggs for $2.50. and have only a few cust. I contribute that to so many chicken keepers in my area. you would think though they would be banging on our door for cheaper eggs. But that is OK I have lots of family taking them home weekly and if I have left overs I either donate to the food pantry in town of freeze them.

only one week away from CS. hope we have a good turn out.
