Sorry to hear about your mom, Monstro

Well we're turkey-less now thanks to nothing in particular. My beautiful calico pair are no more. The Tom died very suddenly with what appeared a full crop of fluid. It all seemed to happen within hours of noticing it. That was a month ago. My laying Hen free ranged around the barn usually and never really left. She'd either be in the barn (where the turkey pen is) or somewhere near outside. One minute she was there the next poof - gone. No trace. I scoured the forest with no luck. It's been 3 days now so I'm sure a predator...well anyway.

Other than that the weather has been great but not for fly-fishing for river run salmon due the the heat. I hope they move in soon. I'll take my longbow and fly rod when I head up to the Platte and Betsie pretty soon. I see there's been some freezer fills already-congrats!

For anyone interested I have a full grown wether Toggenburg that I'm selling. He'd make a great companion animal, or whatever...

My girls love it outside but I'm afraid they will freeze. I don't know when they were hatched (guessing they about 5 weeks old) but they do have quite a bit of feathers. Right now it's drizzling and we brought them in THEY ARE MAD! Also what snacks could I give them? I have a small pumpkin that broke open would it be ok for them to snack on it?

Nope. Back up in the Wayland area now. My mom passed away very suddenly. Decided we needed to be back up by family, easy decision since we weren't happy where we were anyway.

Sorry about your mom, still miss mine and she has been gone 17yrs .

love being close to family, even though we don't get together often enough.

Get them a big one and they'll climb right into the thing if you would let them do it.

Been moving the pen around the garden this morning. Picked the purple sweetcorn that didn't turn out so well, had kinda given up on it. got a lot of little ears out of it. Hoping to dry them out and us them as chickie treats for the winter, along with some sunflower heads as well.

Also saw the girls having a lot of fun with a mouse today before it started to rain. Mouse didn't like their game of Mouse football, I'm sure you all can figure out why. Last I saw of him, one of my Black Sex Links had his head off and was up by two touchdowns.
