yeah, I probably could have sat up my isolation coop in the same wind block area that I have my main coop in. But again, its something we've been working with her for a while, and well, it was just bigger mess now. was able to get it to relax back in for a bit yesterday, but it was all back out last night, and this morning she was just kinda hanging off by herself, not really moving much. ended it pretty quickly for her. Just makes you wonder if you did it right when they go zombie and try to keep on moving. That's gotta be some sort of biological good of the flock deal, keep the predator busy while the flock retreats.Oh icky yikes!...she would probably be fine alone if out of wind, but may be better to let her go if the condition hasn't resolved in that long.![]()
Grow it or be really on top of it. as long as its not stubble. One last thing...
This weekend the clocks are changed. This means that Spring is officially here. It also signifies that all ladies need to start shaving their legs again.![]()
I am so glad I emailed them when the "girls" I sold them had a few "boys" in the group. Happy for all of you!Kindness rarely goes unrewarded. Due to life changes caused by the demands placed upon me by the mental decline of my old farmer friend and also the physical limitations my stroke has inflicted on me, I decided that it was best if I divest myself of my flock.
So a few weeks ago I loaded up all my birds and took them to a couple that were wanting to increase their own flock. While they were aware that my birds were older and no longer in egg laying prime, they would serve as a bridge until some younger birds could start laying.
A couple of days ago I can home and discovered a dozen eggs on my porch with the following note attached. "With love from your girls. Thank you for being you".
