With today's weather a line for an old song comes to mind...........What a difference a day makes. Thirty degrees less than yesterday and tomorrow is to be colder still. I even heard the weatherman talking about the very real possibility of our first snow of the season. I didn't listen closely as I thought perhaps if I ignored him it won't happen.
Yesterday's mail contained the latest issue of Capper's Magazine is which there is an article about keeping chickens in winter. I haven't read it yet but it looks to be quite informative. If after reading it I learn anything new I will post it. I've started moving birds around in preparation for winter's onslaught and I'm already tired of cold weather.
Its been a couple of weeks since I've had anything in any of my traps til today. I went out to check on the birds and discovered a possum in one of the Duke dog proof traps. I initially thought it was dead. Rather the get to close I prodded it with a pole and it opened its eyes and bared its teeth. Sure glad it didn't use a hand. I came back with a gun to dispatch it and appeared to be sleeping again.
