Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Are anyone else's broodies trying to take over the world this year? So far demand for chicks (and dinner) has kept up, but I feel like I'm fighting a war here with my Marans. They're trying to take over the world! What a ridiculously broody breed.

Someone in a previous post asked if the Silkies are good mothers, they are excellent. The Silkie Roosters are also good care givers. Mine take over after the moms are done. Right now I have a beautiful buff rooster who cuddled 5 6 week olds in a nest at night. The big babies are under his wings every night.

Over 100 large and extra large egg cartons are sitting on my front porch free to anyone who wants to come and get them.  Next Friday they will go in the recycle bin.  Also free is a 4x6 chicken coop that needs the door repaired.  I also have an A-frame coop for $50

I am coop shopping and an hr from you! Can I have aome pics of the 4x6 and A frame?

I'm home from the hospital. Went in on Monday and came home Sunday night. Tired and a bit sore in some spots but I'm in pretty good shape. Just happy to be able to get some real sleep tonight in my own bed.  Night.

I have 3 toddlers so, I KNOW what lack of sleep is. There is no sleep deprivation like hospital sleep deprivation. Hope you get some rest and are able to heal from whatever ails you.

just a quick peek inside the nest boxes while closing things up for the night
