Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

In order to help our voices be heard within MDARD, the commissioners and the MDARD attorney suggested that we form a "group" that can be included in future correspondence, i.e. added to the list that they have for communication.

Those of us that attended the meeting last week decided to use "Backyard Chicken Keepers of Michigan" as the name of the group. This is based on a Facebook page that was started some time ago.

So if you write to the powers that be, please mention that you are part of the group. It will help bolster our voice in Lansing.

Also, I volunteered to be part of the 2013 task force, if you like, you can also mention my name in your letters.

So you plan on breeding her Stacy?
I think it would be funny to mix an angora with a pygmy...They would look like shihtzus! LOL

Yes, with my Nigerian buck when she is old enough, if I can't find an Angora buck for stud service. The resulting mix is called a "Nigora".

Pygmy crossed with Angoras is actually a pretty popular cross. They're called Pygoras, hah. Small and fluffy!

Don't forget to vote tomorrow. This year I availled myself of the old fart's priviledge of an absentee ballot. The last election line was a little tough of Granny so we decided to vote early. It is going to seem strange not actually going to vote.

Anyone who lives near an Aldi store and likes cheese you need to try their sharp cheddar with cinnamon apples and walnuts. Incredible taste and an excellent price. We also were impressed with their cheese with pepperoni and maranara.

I've got a big bag full of German Angora fiber to spin before Christmas (gifts for the knitters in my family). It's SO incredibly soft, it's evil.

I voted on Friday. Have to babysit for my grand girls tomorrow. Okemos doesn't have school. Be nice not to stand in a line to vote. Hope everyone does their duty tomorrow.
Grey and dismal day. Did get some yard work done this week end. Wasn't too bad in the afternoons. Think the rest will wait until spring. The birds will love the coneflower sedum seeds.
Have a good day all!

I have two hopes for voting tomorrow. 1. That my phone will stop ringing. We quit answering three days ago and have amassed twelve messages from a certain political party (that I shall not mention) on the answering machine. Not a single call from the opposing party. That alone might determine my vote. It's been quiet today; only two calls but I expect they'll start up again tonight around dinnertime, in full force. Might just unplug it. 2. To see the old town hall that is our polling location. Bowne Center is all historic buildings and I haven't been in any of them. Should be interesting.

In all the years we had chickens (11 years) I never had a tiny egg like that!

In 10 years of chicken raising, I think that I have gotten about 10 fart eggs. Its always funny to collect them. lol

I am voting tomorrow!!!!! Nothing is going to stop me for going out to vote out the current guy, and replace him with a person who REALLY cares for our country.

Someone had stole the wire frames of our signs, and tossed the signs in the trees. My sisters found the signs, and I fixed it good. :D

The post was my eggs for sale sign, before the storm blew off the sign a few years ago...

That'll be the hard part there Daron...

As for the phone calls. NON STOP! They've quit for the last hour now though. BUT, it seemed to be one an hour since we got up this morning. Only 2 calls were not from polls, political parties, or what ever... I told my mom not to answer, and she says, well It might be important. I told her to look at the caller ID first, but NOPE, she just answers, gets pithed and hangs up. LOL

The end of tomorrow can't come fast enough.
