Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Don't be too afraid of strangers coming to your door. One day that could be one of us, asking for a petition signature to change what ever fool ideas they add to GAAMPS in the future to prevent us from having livestock in our backyards.

I too hate the phone calls. The worst was one my dh got last week. He is in a union and someone called from the union to be sure he knew how to vote. He didn't agree with them and debated with them a while. He actually likes it and knows these weird obscure facts. After about ten minutes the guy went from "yes sir, no sir". To hanging up on him with the parting comment "Oh I see you work for the county so you stand around and do nothing all day anyway" . These are the people that get his union dues. I wanted him to call and make a complaint but he didn't. We have no tv but between junk mail and phone calls I've had enough

I am voting tomorrow!!!!! Nothing is going to stop me for going out to vote out the current guy, and replace him with a person who REALLY cares for our country.

The Green party's got someone running that's actually got a chance to win?

I know this is a stupid question so I'll just fib and say I am asking for a friend. Your angorra goat is adorable but she looks like a sheep not goat-like. My' friend' always thought angorra came from lambs. But it's from goats - really??

Hi once again Michiganders, hope you are all well

I haven't been ignoring you all - but had some surgery on my shoulder and what with that and the meds, couldn't be bothered to get to the computer. On the mend now though, just in time for the holidays!

So voting, and getting rid of those pesky phone calls. I had one last week; a pure idiot. I told him I was not a citizen (couldn't he tell by my STRONG British accent?) and wasn't a registered voter. Pause . . . then he asks "Does that mean you aren't going to vote then?"

I felt like telling him that if he was representative of his party, I certainly would be voting for the the other side - "IF" I VOTED"!

wow..... well, there is no shortage of stupidity, regardless of party side.

I don't like answering my door... the only reason I did is I thought it was a neighbor

From what I looked up... and I could be wrong...
Angora comes from rabbits (angora rabbit)
Mohair comes from goats (angora goat)
Cashmere comes from goats as well!!!

Spot on! Angora wool = bunny. Mohair and cashmere = goat.

Yes, Angora goats do look a lot like sheep because they are so fluffy, but the fiber is so unique compared to wool. Mohair doesn't felt, for instance, because of the fiber structure. But they are caprids and not ovines.

I also read that some people say cashmere is shaved from the goats belly when it is not... Belly hair is pretty useless.
PETAs website states that it is (Not that I am on PETAs website)
Which makes me wonder what else is misinformation on their site...
