Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Sorry RaZ. Know it's been tough. A lot happening. But... you got out of Garden City and found a perfect place for yourself where you'll be happy. You'll get your cable soon. I know it's frustrating. Hate bad customer service. Think of the good. Hope you find a buyer for your mom's house soon. And hope you get all settled so you can relax and enjoy. Hang in there!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. All my kids and grand kids were here. Lots of food. The turkey was delish and I also made a German dish my mom always made for her family. And a German pastry. Side dishes galore and oh so many desserts!!

Ceiling Rain..GAAHHH!!

So you get a fresh turkey and part it out too?
I butchered 2 birds into parts yesterday.
No, the neighbors butchered their turkey right after I had bought the Turkey breast and thighs from the store.

It is a 30 minute trip to the library. So an hour is wasted just driving. I could be working on stuff around the house but I'm here again.

I stopped in the cable office and filed a complaint. I can see the cable junction box on the pole in the neighbors yard. That pole is 260 feet from my house. The entire road has cable except for me. I'm going to have to up the complaining, I think.

October and November have been terrible months for me. :barnie So much has gone wrong.
Could be worse Raz. At least its not ceiling rain. Think we dodged a bullet on that. Pretty sure that they were smart and they used the good stuff in the bathroom that's more water resistant than what regular drywall is. Doesn't appear to be affected by that, and the maintenance guy stopped by yesterday to check on the vent/light, pronounced it good. Only worry now is mold growing up there in the space between our ceiling and the upstairs floor, but we ran a pretty good fan in the bathroom once the leak stopped and hopefully that aided in drying that out as well.

I've got a five month old Easter Egger cockerel who's looking for a new home. He seems to be a nice boy so far. Thought we'd give him a chance at a home before sending him to the freezer. His dad is a very nice relatively quiet rooster. He's free! We're in the Dexter area if anyone is interested.

Wish I knew you needed a turkey LM.. I have three turkeys in my freezer I had processed this fall. I would be happy to sell one or two. They are big though. We fixed half of one of them for thanksgiving dinner... it was very tasty! I let mine free range, though they also ate chicken layer pellets. The largest is 38 pounds... the smallest we have left is 32 pounds. We took the 31 pounder to the butcher and he cut it in half for me. It was more than enough to feed 13 people. I was glad it wasn't dry... I didn't brine it but I did give it a generous stuffing under the skin and rub down with herb butter.

If anyone is looking for some sheep - Jacobs specifically, please contact me. I had a buyer lined up and she backed out at the last minute... nothing wrong with my sheep, it was a personal issue. I have 6 ewes and a ram for sale. Several of the ewes are daughters of the ram. I am only keeping about 4 of my ewes for wool spinning, and I won't be breeding anymore.
