Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Glad it's stopped, got about 8" pretty heavy tiny dense flakes.
I too shoveled coop path, and other main paths, multiple times today.
Got part of run shoveled late in day.....all ready to throw clear the driveway tomorrow morning.

Lot of show here. Shoved out the sidewalk and the dog patches at the apartment here twice today and did the porch, garage apron and a path around the back yard for Miss Belle to do her business out there on today, and it probably needed to be cleaned up later on. Kinda debating about going out and knocking out the sidewalks and dog patches here again as well tonight. Probably should just to keep up with it.

Really wish I had broken down and ordered a new pair of work boots sooner. I've had a pair of caterpiller boots for like 9 years and I'm pretty much to the point where I have to call it on them. Just not keeping the snow and wet out of my feet anymore. Placed the order Sunday evening and they were sitting in Saline on a truck to go out this morning, but now it says that they probably won't come out until Monday. Might just see if I can stop in there tomorrow and pick them up from the FedEx center myself instead tomorrow.

Anyways, brought home my winter muck boots from the farm today. Just kinda realized at how much they smell while they were sitting on the passenger side car mat. They're currently sitting outside of our door and I'm sure the neighbor dogs will love taking a sniff of them. so much interesting smells for them to sniff.

It's snowing! Make it stop!
Ha-ha :plbb ..sorry...hang in there!
Looks like it's gonna mostly miss us today.
I just dug yesterdays 8" out of the run, still need to clear the driveway, and clear the shed and hoop roofs, tho I really don't need to go anywhere so may put it off.

At risk of sounding redundant. It's still snowing over by Detroit. The snow is over my boots now, which for cold/wet haters like me means things are getting serious. This is going to be a lot of water to melt off this week (Wednesday/Thursday?). I would not be surprised if we saw some flooding later.

They don't plow or salt or sand well here, but it doesn't matter much to us because we may live on a swampy acre in a factory area, but we can walk to at least two big box grocery stores within an hour in fair weather, and bikes still work so-so in the snow, so we're almost always only 10 minutes from restocking the shelves. I hope no one else needs to get anywhere.

Now quality chicken and rabbit food is what would have me worried if we were anywhere near running out, but we're not.

I might have to downsize on my bird flock this year. I'm not yet 30, but I'm starting to get symptoms what I'd not be surprised winds up being really bad carpal tunnel, especially when it's chilly, which would mean plucking endless muscovy to put in the freezer would be out of the question. If that winds up being the case I'd be torn, because the huge population boom helps control mosquito in our yard, but they kind of exist to try to take over the world every year. You've got to keep the population under control, and there's not enough market for what they produce, and every time I pluck, it messes my hands up for the next day or two. Stuffing the freezer full to bursting is sure fun though... I might have to find a less producktive duck to clean up the larvae or just give up and do what the duckless neighbors do and hide all summer evenings. Repellent doesn't even work, there are so many, but each year I have ducks we have fewer and fewer biters. A processor isn't a good option either unless we get a bigger car (boo hoo, more car space for feed and hay, but insurance by Detroit is high, so it's not to be taken lightly). Aw well, we'll see what the doctor says. I want to be able to open cans and screw things in again! (and pluck ducks! and shovel snow! and lug feed sacks without hand related repercussions!)

whine,whine,whine,......come on people, its Mi. .......we had about 8 yesterday, light and fluffy, so not to hard to shove.........think I will sit down this afternoon by the fire and have a glass of blueberry wine :D....
