Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Is it the Alleghan Fiber Fest? I've been wanting to go to that for years, but it's always the same weekend as Lapeer Days. :/

Things are about to get busy here! Lapeer days this weekend, and I just got a job coaching JV cheerleading! :D

Heading out to work on the duck house once I finish up lunch! Woot!
Yup, that is the one. I have no interest in it but my friend does, so I will accompany her.

You are a good friend then RB! I can't tell you how many of my so-called "friends" I can't even get to go with me to something they would LIKE! lol! I would love to go...but alas, this year, when we could have finally gone, we are having dinner to celebrate my BIL getting his Journeyman's Cert, and my SIL getting her masters. :/

original flock..
Silkies, big butt, black butt, big head, mark, new homes. Leila, Minnie Cuke, Predators. I still have Roger.
Faverolle... Rosey, Buffy, predators. Mr. Fluffers, Protecting from predator.
Wyandottes. SLW chick to heat stroke. Veena to EYP, vanna to illness. Still have Vonna.
Little cochins. Skooter daytime predator. Skeeter and Skatter still have.
Aster the EE disguised as an asterlorp, wry neck. I put down.
3 cockerels I had processed.
My dogs killed both of my leghorns.
So, I have four of my original flock left.

ROBIN-

Id much rather go to a festival.

Theres a CHICKEN FEATHER explosion outside. Looks like someone tore open a feather pillow.

I quickly did a head count while simaltaneously telling the dog he was in so much trouble....and all are accounted for. All white feathers everywhere.
I guess they are all molting.

I had the pleasure and honor of meeting tdhenson today and sold him 5 of my Dominiques. What a nice young man, and loves chickens!! Great to know you, hope you made it all the way back home okay and I do hope those ladies are an asset to your flock. Let me know how they work out, I sure enjoy them.

Hi everybody!

I see lots of newbies have joined us!

Don't think I didn't notice you poking fun at all my roos!

Someone asked how I aquired 7 roos out of 11 chickens. Well, my chicken math goes like this:

I ordered a dozen eggs from a BYC member and had a teacher set them... one hatched (Noodle:Hen)

I scrambled to find Noodle a friend and found another BYC member that was looking for homes for another teacher that was hatching eggs in the classroom... out of 3 doz eggs that they set 10 hatched... I took all 10! I kept the weakest EE because I promised my neighbor 6-9 chicks out of that hatch. (Nugget: Roo)

I asked Mom2 for a pair of showgirls and she convinced me I needed 3 showgirls... I came home with 4. (Parmesana, Hunan, Teriyaki: Roos & Marsala: Hen)

Then... Chickenstock... I wanted to get a few more EEs... BF bought 3 barred rocks (Cajun, Quesadilla: Roos & Pattie: Hen)
I am not totally convinced that Quesadilla is a roo, yet.
We ate Cajun...

I, also, got 2 ubber cute uggos from Mom2 (Peking: Roo & Shawarma: ?Hen? TBD)

Hunan, Parmesana, Teriyaki, MARSALA, and Quesadilla all crow!!!

So that leaves me to ask all the new memebers...

WHO IS LOOKING FOR A BLACK SHOWGIRL ROOSTER???

I have 2 beauties waiting to serve and protect your ladies!

19 weeks old!

I am in Oakland Co.!

The main pump on my pond filter went kaput today. Just a simple ceramic axle on the impeller.
Still, I picked up a higher output pump, 1550 GPH. More water moving and a better sound. The fish should be happier as well.

I also started installing the wood stove. Cut through the interior wall and discovered that the house was built with tongue and groove cedar planks on the exterior wall.
