Panic in the coop at bedtime. A cute little opossum was in the corner. He/she ate 2 turkey eggs. I think the chickens were mad because the 'possum got them before they did.
Stupid chickens have been eating the turkey eggs just as soon as the hen leaves the nest. I guess it's not a good idea to have a mixed flock.
I sure could use a weather break to get the coops in order.

Great, our ancient old ground driven manure spreader is on the fritz again and I was planning on cleaning out my coop on Sunday. Sure hope my brother figures out what the heck it is soon and fixes it before sunday or else I'm going to be stuck doing it all via wheelbarrow. :barnie:barnie:barnie

I kinda have to do it Sunday or I just won't have the time to do it. If we get more snow then it had better not stick around too long, or else the tractor will just have to sit in a spot a little longer until it does. Forecast looks promising.

Well, got my last hoo-rah in. Went sledding down my neighbors hill. All winter, after I did my outdoor chores, I would climb that hill and go down a few times. Good way to have a little fun after chores.
But, I'm anxiously awaiting the warmer weather so we can go camping! Got all our dates set, so come on warm weather!!

I have turkeys, guineas, and chickens all in the same pen for the past 2 years. Guineas and turkeys are moving out as soon as new pen is completed (need 2 more good saturdays)

Lotsa babies!
Same here. I've been asking myself "why am I still saving eggs to hatch" and the answer is "what else will I do with all of these goose/turkey/duck/polish eggs" I have them posted for sale on CL, so if I get a buyer before I set them, it's all good... but when I have 2 weeks worth of eggs and no buyer... in they go... I have about 2 more weeks before the chicks hit the fan around here and I am out of space. Warmer weather will buy me more time in this situation... but that's a temporary stop-gap.
