Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Lingon, you may have to find a way to put it down if you can't re-home. He's not big enough to bother processing, and he will crow a plenty before he's big enough to process. You don't want to risk losing your other birds over the roo.

Thanks, I didn't realize he would crow before reaching processing size. I guess I was thinking of cornish x which have a much different timing. I talked to our animal control officer and she gave me a name of someone who might take him. So I'll keep trying.

My young roo has a red line going down his leg. Is this from sparring with my other roo? Or something else?

Thank you! He has a blue legged roo for a brother that hatched out with him last year, not noticeable - took a pic and sure enough he has a dark line. Learned something new - Thanks!

Nice blue! Pretty!
My outbuildings are all gray, and I'm thinking that the coop needs some 'spice' added to the place. Maybe blue? Lavender? Red? Still with gray trim.
Tonight I moved the Wyandotte broody hen off her eggs; all a week past their hatch date, yuck. They were developing, but I just couldn't open them up to check. Something went wrong, and I'm not up to looking.
Nineteen bantam chicks in the brooder, adorable! And 25 standard chicks at the coop.
There will be birds available at Chickenstock!
Mary
just what would you be bringing to chickenstock for birds??

chonsey, he's really handsome! What breed?
For Chickenstock, EE bantams, and Belgian d'Uccles for sure. Probably some white Chanteclers, maybe EE standard pullets, Barnvelder pullets, and then it just depends.
Those Toulose goslings sound interesting...
Mary
