Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Where did the day go? Got kind of a late start on chores. Had to go to town for some wasp spray. They were in the foundation of the next section of garage that I was working on. Got nailed by a couple of them yesterday. I hate to use pesticides but these guys had to go.
It was rainy and dreary all day so the wasps were pretty sluggish. Took out the entire nest in one shot. Wall goes up tomorrow.

RaZ, I know you kept mentioning that you were working on the garage, but did not realize that you are doing it all... except for the concrete. Sure did take on a lot of projects. Is the coop done? How far did you get on the garage? How's your hand doing with all this work?

I got a late start on it yesterday after voting and running errands. I got most of another wall section framed but it got dark before I could finish.

I still have to figure out if I can re-use the door in the coop. That thing is heavy, maybe too heavy Still need to cover the inner walls as well.

I have 10 - 15% range of motion in my hand since the operation. Pain level is tolerable. Between the hand and my back, I don't get moving very quickly in the morning. It gets easier as the day heats up.

Thanks for asking.

RaZ, We'll be at Sleeper State Park the 12th-16th. Not sure what lot number we are at yet. Can let you know soon.
Cool. Let me know when you get here. I'm PM my number to you.
You can come see the new coop and garage. Bring gloves and a hammer. ;)

There is a concert in town that night and I'm working the gate.

This weekend is my final cull :(
Hang in there!

I always dread it, mostly because of the work involved(cleanup especially-but had mucho help with that this year) and the lack of fridge/freezer space.
Now am already thinking about how to manage the fall cull of older hens before winter sets in.

Ahhhh, the balance of Romance vs Reality...
...on the bright side my first BCMxCCL cross is due to lay any minute now.
