Happy 4th weekend. I got this Ameraucana from the farm store in late April. I am holding out hope that it is a pullet, but starting to look like a cockerel. What do you think?

Yeah after reading on here most are EE's. That doesn't matter to me. Thank you for the response.

I love the coloring. My daughter wants to keep it, so she can get baby chicks. I don't know if I will go down that road though. Never tried it. She can officially start 4H next year, so might be a good project for her. If he is the only rooster, can he be in a pen next to the hens, or will he just go crazy? Thanks for the advice.

Have him with the flock, and enjoy having him. If he decides to be human aggressive, make another decision. Only nice boys should stay, and reproduce.

X2. It won't hurt anything to keep him with the girls, and he may become frustrated if you keep him separately. Fertilized eggs are no different from unfertilized unless you incubate them.

I feel that having a rooster, or more in a larger flock, makes the group complete. Social interactions are fun to watch, and good roosters are beautiful too.
