Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hi Guys!

I keep hoping to find eggs in with the younger birds but no luck. All six of my remaining 3 yr old hens are done laying for molt I hope, but they have been pretty sketchy with laying.

I'll be getting another Olde English Bulldogge Puppy soon. They were just born and I'm excited I get my pick. I have a few I'm looking at but can't decide while they're so little.

Keep up the good fight against the coons - there will never be a shortage of them I'm afraid! This is why I get on people when I hear them say to let them go in the country.... um not if you want them to get killed! lol!

That hawk was back today,
didn't see it until it took off from near the same place,
but closer to house.
...and heard another big splash in the pondsai,
(happened a few mornings but ago too dark to see anything)
this time saw what it was.
Snake came out of upper pond onto filter cover,
then dove into lower pond and back out.
There's lots of frogs for it to eat out there,
and I wonder if it's had some mouses too.
Wonders if hawk was after snake?
All chickens are fine.

Letting the coons go "in the country" only passes the problem on to another person. Also, the coons don't do good either cause they are dumped in a strange area and into a different coon's territory. There's way too many coons here, not enough food. They are going after my chickens and can't have that. I have small dogs that will get torn up by them if they come into contact with them.

That is cool aart, looks like a racer to me. I don't see too many snakes by me, just the occasional garter snake.
Racer or rat...as long as it stays out of the coop, it can eat all the frogs and mice that congregate around the pondsai and adjacent decks.
They are cool, but like spiders, I don't want to touch them<shudders>
