@uchytil Meaning for firewood to burn to cook sap into syrup?
Do you have a really big chipper?

Yes I make syrup with wood rather than expensive propane. My chipper is medium-ish but I use it beyond what I should, lol. You can rent the big diesel ones that you tow around but it's much cheaper to buy them. Some tree company's sell them cheaper than gardening places. You just have to call around and see what they have.

No coons bugging us here.....but mice are rampant....in the lower level of house.
Haven't seen that happen in 20 years.

Dis have a hawk land on the ground right in front of my 'office' window.
Thinks it was stalking the birds just before, Willie was fussing in a 'different' voice.
Not sure why it landed here, might have been looking at the pondsai that is 10' to the left in pic.

been a while since I've checked in. the countdown is now 4 weeks away to the wedding. Been busy with all of that, think that we have the seating arrangements figured out mostly to keep some warring parties apart for the whole shindig. And got mostly everyone with a group of people that they should know to sit with for dinner. About the only strays we have is this one couple who's friends of my future inlaws who are going to be with some of my coworkers, and there's a chance that they might not even show up to the wedding.

Oh, and my Wyandot pullets started laying about a week ago. Think it's just 2 of them right now, and the other 2 should be firing up soon. really hope that they do as it looks like some of my older girls are molting and the coop and pen is bit of a mess with feathers all over. that and it didn't help that I clipped some wing feathers of the wyandots this week as well as I have had one of them getting out over the fence.
