Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Mice aren't the problem here. It's the over abundance of chipmunks. None have been found inside the house but they are under the porch, in the wood piles, the shed, etc. Both barn cat and my dogs have caught several.

I haven't seen the young opossums in a few weeks now. Not even tracks in the snow. No raccoons, deer, wild turkey, or any other critter tracks found. Even the squirrels seem to be mostly gone. Maybe they all went on vacation.

Wow, John! That's major!! Recovery must be a bitch!! I can't imagine what hell you went thru and probably still are. I'm so sorry you have to go thru this. Hope all goes well at you check up tomorrow and all you get is good news.

Hmm. I posted the above message last night when I got home from work. Must not have hit the "post reply" button before going to bed. It was still here this morning in a grey format. Working until 2:00 am is just crazy.

Sounds like a lot of us old chicken people are getting new replacement parts I'll bet there is a statistical correlation between chicken keeping and becoming bionic super people. :D

I'm back already...a major breakthrough in my time away fro a thread, lol. Actually it's really cold and chores took a bit longer and I wanted to sit down. So, yeah the worst part is being in a hospital for over a week and having the feeding tube down my nose for 3 weeks. I couldn't breath on my own during surgery so they shoved a huge respirator tube down my throat when I was out cold. When I was in ICU I was drugged on Morphine but even then when they yanked that sucker out...OUCH!. BUT, the best story is they were going to remove my leg bone (the smaller of the tibia/fibia) and arteries from my neck to replace the jaw. They were also going to cut into my head a bit. Well, they actually had a cadaver show up and used that bone so I didn't have the wound management crap to go through. Except that my mouth and throat are all full for stiches. Enough about that. I'm eating again only on the left side and enjoying life. I'll be back to my bad ass self come spring doing things a 60 y/o probably shouldn't.

We have a theme for CS20. Show Your Surgical Scar(s)

We probably have enough replacement parts among ourselves to build a mechanical (wo)man. Jaws, knees, wrists, hearts...What else?
