Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Exactly! But who wants to eat ice cream if it's that cold anyway?
Ice appears to have missed me, stayed eat of here, whew!
Um, that would be me. Couple of ice cream sandwiches hit the spot.

All kinds of weather here today. Noon was rain and high 30's. Drive to work at 3 was on white ice roads. Drive home at 1:00 am was whiteout conditions for most of the way. Wind is wicked coming off the lake. I hope I don't lose power over night.

Rained, sleet and snow all day yesterday. Roads are a mess. Slushy, even the highways. I assume is all frozen now. Be careful doing your chores today!

I'm still peeking in Rose. Earlier I mentioned that Candy mentioned a different venue at CS19...anyway I do like the one you reserve every year. Thank you for your reserving it for all of us again. Now to see if we have anything on June 20th...

Thanks Rose, it's best to reserve the same place. In my town (Williamston) there is a pavillion to reserve at the township park, but its farther away from Delta Mills towards Flint off I 69. That would make extra time for up north, west, and south Michigan people. It's always there in case the Delta Mills is taken for whatever reason. However, this pavillion is popular in June with grad parties so would need to reserve it at first call.
John, glad to hear you are recovering, Raz you are lucky with the hip, falls will contribute to arthritis in the joint too, so watch for that. Arthritis from falls as a younger lady is what did my hip joint in they think.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope the losses are few, sorry to hear of those that have been lost and blessings to you moving foward :)

We started getting ice early here, still crossing fingers and enjoying all the amenities of modern life like electricity, heat, refrigerators, washer dryer, HOT showers :caf. Birds are all doing good.

We have a little lake in our front yard the ducks are enjoying immensely! Love weekends :)

It's a very good morning! We missed the worst of the weather, thankfully. Some ice, a bit of snow/ slush, now frozen, and no power outage. Right now the sun is shining, and it's cold, but beautiful outside.
The roads might be iffy, and I'm staying home today...
Mites! My birds have mites! Hate it! Treating the birds and coop coming up, not so much fun.
Don't fall down out there.
Mary

Just came in. We have a layer of frozen snow on top of the ice. I scraped the snow off the deck and stairs so if the sun does shine, it'll work on melting that ice. It was so pretty outside with the sun shinning on the ice covered trees and brush. Had to deice the bird feeders.
stay safe
Candy, that's why I hopped in the car and rushed over tho the twp office. June is busy, so I need to be the first one there!! Or pretty close. lol

Not so bad out there. Just some crusty ice and snow. I did fine 1 tree that was broken. It's leaning against another tree branch about 40 feet up. It's going to be tricky to bring it down. I'll have to get creative with it. I love a good challenge.

Chickens want nothing to do with this white stuff. One gem flew out the door and immediately flew back in. Scouted all around the coop for track. Only tracks are squirrel. No sign of any other animal for several hundred feet. Haven't seen my opossums for weeks now.

New look for the forum after last night's update. I like it. :thumbsup

Looks like they are getting ready to set some new power poles. At least I hope so. This is the main line that runs through the south side of my property. The pole in the turn-around is severely damaged and should have been replaced years ago. They just slapped a sleeve on it and added a guy wire. The cable anchor is loose in the ground. It been hit by snowmobiles and trucks a few times.
