Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Is the Raynaud's connected to the heart issues?
Did the doc diagnose it, and is there anything they can do to help it?
No, not related. The heart surgery has left me more vulnerable to feeling the cold. I've heard the same thing happening other people who undergone open heart. They chill your core temperature when they crack you open. The hand issue I had attributed to frost bite I had in 2009. I have abused my hands for decades and am now paying for it it seems.
I see the hand surgeon this week and I wanted to be prepared so I did some research.

The appointment might be postponed if this predicted snow storm materializes. Customers tonight kept saying anywhere from 8 - 12 inches. We will see if it happens.

Yard is quickly turning to mud. Never had a deep ground freeze this winter. I'm going to lay down the pallet boardwalk tomorrow. I'm glad that I have so many pallets to use. I figure the boardwalk will be down for 2 months or more. Spring clean up is going to be interesting.

Today was productive.

Very impressive!
Today a friend came over, and then had to organize for the farrier. Only four horses, no shoes, but I get tired standing there holding. She does the work, but I'm tired. Getting old?!
Then more outside stuff, and a Costco trip.
More snow coming, now that a lot of it has melted. Winter!

Nice work splitting and stacking your firewood and making your pallet path, it looks like a great place to be!

Does anyone in Michigan raise Buckeye chickens? I've been reading about them a lot lately and I think they would be fun to raise. I'd like to get some chicks this spring, maybe also a trio for eggs and eventually breeding. Just curious...

Thanks. That is just the latest stack. It was empty because I already burned what was there before. With the mild winter I have only burned about one full cord. I have tons more stacked all over the place. That UTV is one of the best tools that I have here. The other is the tractor. I used it to move the pallets.

This is a great place to be. So happy here even with the muddy paths and other challenges.
