Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

We will start hatching for Iowa orders in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, our hens have been laying well all winter probably due to mild temps. Hope they continue for hatching time 🙂
Mine have been productive all winter too. I expected the 5 new hens to do so but I wasn't expecting the 2yo to lay. I expected them to moult but they still haven't moulted. Therresult is way too many eggs. Dogs have been getting omelettes and hard boiled eggs quite often.

Well, I hit TSC for dog & cat food. Looked at chicks and walked away. They had nothing to brag about. At least they looked to be cared for. Stopped at FFH for a peak. They had a much better selection. My only gripe is that the brooders are wide open to customers. People can reach into the bins and grab the chicks. There wan't an associate anywhere near the littles. That is a bad set-up, if you ask me. At least the food and water founts were full.

Does anyone know if TSC or FFH ever vaccinate for Mareks? I didn't know if it would change from store-to-store or would be a corporate-wide decision. This is my first season buying chicks in a while, and last time I purchased from a hatchery. I am trying to buy local regardless as I'm only looking to add 3 new chicks!
