Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Brett and I are cancelling our in person attendance this Chicken Stock year. I continue to work from home and the directors feel this stay at home work situation will continue through the summer at least. I am happy, we can always do a "Zoom" session for those who have computers with mic and cameras for a virtual "Chickenstock" ;)

does anyone remember "Hillbilly Hen" I still have one of her Delawares. She had such pretty birds. I call this one grandma, she is so old. Still pretty as ever but I think she has arthritis; if chickens get that :) she walks out into the sun plops down and eats all the grass & bugs that come her way. If the sun moves so does she.

She lives right down the road from me and is a friend on Facebook if you want to connect to her.
She rode to CS with me but has given that life up (chickens).

Chickenstock has gotten pretty sparse. Heck last year many that were coming did not for various reasons. I guess if it's not happening that's life. My belief is late June should be fine but I see the writing on the wall. Maybe I'll log on next year..

Hi John. Does that mean you're not going to be on this site either? I don't know why we can't get the newbies to join us. It's a fun day. It's getting frustrating, that's for sure. Love visiting with you all, though. Quite a few have stopped raising chickens for health reasons. We need new blood to keep things going...

All 6 broody eggs are growing.....7 days to go!

Had a FlashBang storm with pouring rain roll thru last evening.
Luckily drains held up so run nor garage didn't flood.

Sorry for y'all that the old gang is gone. :(
