Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

It ain't purty but a few reclaimed dog kennel panels will be good enough for the chickens

Eh, for me the biggest issues I have with cats is that I got one fixed barncat who likes to hang out by the fence and use his claws to tear up the netting that I use to keep everyone penned up. Got a couple more spots that I'm going to have to repair again soon. Kinda thinking about getting a short roll of actual chicken wire and stitch that to the netting all around. see if that fixes his wagon.

I'm in Dimondale, just outside of Lansing.
Back to the cool weather. Yesterday wasn't so bad, but no sun today. Enjoying seeing all the Orioles at the feeder. They are stunning! Also the grosbeaks showed up. Another stunning bird. So, lots of color with the cardinals and blue jays and goldfinches, and all the other birds. Love watching them.
Have a good day. RaZ, please be careful. Stay home. Stay smart. Stay alive.
We just moved up north from Dimondale last year! Now in the Gaylord area. Saw our first grosbeak yesterday! (May 4th). Hopefully the hummers will show soon!

One reason I don't have a cat.
That is not my cat.
See 'strays' wander thru fairly frequently, sometimes they even seem to hang around for a few days, first time I have ever seen one stalk the birds.

First chick hatched early this morning.
Didn't get a real good look but it appears I put in one of the wrong eggs.
Chick is not black as it should be. Ooops!

ETA...after another albeit quick look, saw a black chick, might have been wetness and glare from headlight that made it look lighter.
...and another is zipping!

Haven't seen any hummers yet. Haven't put out the hummingbird feeders out yet.
Snow in the forecast!! How do we go from 76* to snow?? I know, I know, it's Michigan!!! Depressing! Hopefully, after this front moves out, it'll be warmer weather from here on out.
Stay home. Stay smart.
