Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Very cold here but at least the wind hasn't been as bad as predicted. Between the Raynaud's syndrome, arthritis, and Carpectomy, I can barely use my hands in the cold. Even with gloves.
I dropped a couple of eggs just as I was picking them up. Thank goodness for deep litter in the coop.

Despite the cold, the chickens and ducks spend their day outside. The ducks like the snow and ice. I watched them run through the snow to where the flat ice began. Once they hit the ice, they did a belly flop and slid for several feet. They did this several times.

So where is everyone today? I was at work. I got out in time to enjoy an absolutely beautiful day. Although it was cold, there was no wind at all. I drive past wind farms to & from work and not one turbine was spinning. That is fairly unusual.

I did see several deer at different points and even saw some pheasant. I'd like to think that spring is near but we'll have to wait and see what that groundhog says.

Pretty boring day here...warmer but windy and no sunshine.
2 eggs today, 3 birds are now laying.
Snow and wind expected overnight......~4".

Spent the day at home after grocery...put up tarp for the girls due to the wind. They love being outside when I put that up and they’re protected from the wind.
Getting ready for the snow tonight and cooking some chicken thighs...oh good lord...I literally just saw the irony in that:eek:

We are getting closer everyone....think spring!

It was getting dark as we got it home, so this is all I took.
