Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hey lovelies,
It has been a ride since yesterday. But I think you guys will like the progress. Yesterday was so hot and today, argh, even worst. But anyways, some got done in the future coop. I did not had time to get the pictures of the girls and when I came back in at 9pm, they were already tucked in and lights were off. I had to give them a little treat before they went to bed. So turned lights on and gave them some oats. They all came running to the border and kind of begged me to pick them up one by one for some mami (like momma but in Spanish) love. The X had stayed here and in the afternoons he has helped a lot. The legs were turning to the side, so he stabilized them. I used a 3 ton jack that I have to lift it up while he fortified the legs with 2x4's. But today, I took measurements and marked the panels then cut them with the saw. But they were too heavy for me to hold them up and screw them also. He did that while I held them in place. But before anymore went up, I painted the inside of the frames with a barn paint in white. Just one coat until it is all finished. Then I will paint it all again. I finished the hardware cloth but it is uneven in the corners and the last one I bought was shorter. Have to figure out what to do. Can anyone tell me a better way to mesh them together? The one by one is too time consuming and my hands are all scratched. There are no windows nor doors yet but I need to finish the walls so we can move to the roof before rains decides to visit again. X will work also on putting some block and legs in the center to make sure it holds everything I want to put in there. Tomorrow have to go get a new blade for the saw and 4x4 and 2x4 for the run. I think I am short one for the roof too. Anyways, here are some pictures for now.

Morning!

I got a text out of the blue last week from one of my old coworkers, and then another text from another old coworker.... and finally a call from my old manager. Turns out they all are now working for the same company and they wanted to bring me on board! You're looking at the new Project Coordinator for Citylift! I fly out to CA for a week for training and then jump in to the big install in Detroit.

Unfortunately, I had been gearing up to be making money off the homestead, so the bees will arrive at the end of the month and the new chicks arrived today! Salmon Faverolles and Blue Sumatra. I also have a few mini rex rabbit babies if anyone is interested.

Congrats!!
Good luck balancing the home projects.

@Dreamzchaser , nice build BUT your hardware cloth is not secure enough! Add boards, 1x4's will do, over the top of the framing and hardware cloth with screws. And where you've done that weaving, you should have framing then add that board and screw it all together, the hardware cloth sandwiched between the wood.
We also added 2"x 4" woven wire over the lower 4' of our small roofed run area. Can't have it too safe!

Sorry, now I see you are doing the skirting, not the run or windows, sorry. We did the skirting too, much later, and ran the hardware cloth horizontally so there were only seams at the corners. It is a pain to handle!

I'll take some lilacs!! Just let me know when and where!
Silly, congrats on the new job!
Swiss, it a sellers market. There's a housing shortage. My next door neighbors have their house for sale. I've never seen so many showings. Non stop cars coming and going. Good Luck in your search! If you find something you like, hop on it!

Checking in since my post about talking to the ducks. Basically without wheels. Day before Easter a drunk pulled out from a roadside bar and my truck tee-boned him. No injuries but my truck is totaled. Even the State Cop said it was the other guys fault. Anyway, I assuming the Chickenstock is not happening correct? I'll check back in a few days and see who posts up some answers. Have a great weekend. I have a VFW funeral to do today. I'm a rifleman for these events. Take care!

Turkeys on sale at TSC.(Lowell) was tempted to get a couple but left the store with out.
Turkeys are a bird I can resist. Don't know why; they just never held any attraction for me.

@Folly's place, I forgot to tag you when I mentioned Chick Depot has Freedom Rangers. They're about 2 hours away from me; probably about the same for you too. Just in case you're interested.

It is crazy (we've been looking since early February)! We have even been scheduled to look at a house, and they sold it the day before our appointment. At least we didn't waste our time or gas driving out there, I guess.
Our realtor sent this to us a month or so ago:
