Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

It was a beautiful day here. Bright blue sky with fluffy clouds that inspired one's imagination to see any number of shapes.
Took a drive along the shoreline and the lake was perfectly flat and calm. The blue of the water puts the Caribbean to shame.

I just heard on the radio that the low for tonight is expected to be 26 degrees. I'm not liking these low temperatures but what can I do? Got another load of firewood in the house so I'll be warm enough. Tried cutting some windfall but chainsaw was acting up. Only got about a face-cord cut. Not too shabby considering how bad my knee feels. The new brace helped a lot.

Finally got approval from the insurance company to get the MRI done. The one that the doctor wanted done 3 months ago. That's one step closer to the knee replacement that I've been told is necessary.

Snowflakes here today too, it's that time.
Today I planted the two pawpaw seedlings I bought last week; madness struck again! May they do well, and have interesting and edible fruit someday.
Everything else that needs planting will happen soon...
We have 50+ acres, you wouldn't think it would be hard to find spots for things. BUT, the deer are so happy to eat everything we put out, so it is actually hard to decide where to plant stuff.
And we have plants that i can't bear to cut out; anyone for lilacs, or redbud seedlings?
Mary
I'd love some redbud seedlings!

Finally!

No me. Unless you near Lansing and want to join us! Dream, any where you want to stop? Cracker Barrel? Lunch? Snack? Or just coffee? Thought CB would be easy for you to find and off highway.
Duh! How late am I now? Had a great time with you. You are amazing. I know I will pay later for all that food but hey, I will only live once! Kidding, I will work it out of my system in a few weeks, lol Hey tonight I just put the new girls by the entrance of the crate and they went in on their own. But the white one wanted to be with the old girls. No fights so far. She got pecked by her sisters but the old girls let her roos by them. Will see in the morning! Kids!!! :lau :lau :lau

Hi Gang...
I been working in my new job a bit over a month... trying very hard to find the positive bits of it until I can find something else. Cause other wise - I don't like it! It's plenty easy enough, but I hate being micro managed and they are actually ripping me off on hours. only getting 7.5 a day even though they say I'm getting 8... heaven forbid if you work 5 min over with out asking permission to do it and at the same time will berate you for not taking that last second request at quitting time that can take 1/2 hr to address. Ridiculous! I am also supposed to be mostly working at home, but she wants me in every day from 1-4 then I go home and work from 5-9. Had the gall to ask me to eat lunch on the way home... um NO. So I eat when I get home and then start working. Stupid petty shit.

Mean while back at the ranch, I got the pig and sheep moved to their winter homes. The garden and camper have been winterized (water lines blown out etc.).

I have a few bunnies if anyone wants any. Great fertilizer makers!

I also have some blue sumatra roos and faverolle roos that could be up for sale if anyone is interested. I have seen no ill behavior from any of them. Otherwise I have to send them to freezer camp. (I may hold the sumatra until they are more mature) looking for tail growth first.

We started harvesting honey, but had a snag with the way it was capped so we had to stop and purchase a heat knife. It has a flowery, sweet citrusy flavor this year. Unfortunately, the bees did poorly and we didn't get much.

Had a couple little bucks walk in front of my stand this morning.

Take care all..

Hi everyone! My beautiful lovelies, I have a confession to make. I ate like an animal today at the CB with Rose. Left only one of the french toasts but it was so good. I love you all so much.
RaZ you are next!
It was a bit flaky this morning on my drive to AA. Got the girls out by 5am and by 520 I was driving down 96E. Got there an hour earlier and they took care of me and sent me home, so that is why I was ahead of schedule. My next is on the 29th. But it is not for me. It is for the Hub. He has carcinoma in two skin moles. They already scraped some but they need to do it again. Hard to be supportive to someone who is so difficult but have to do it not on my own strength.
The girls are doing fine. Still getting between 7 to 9 eggs per day. Sophia, NN is not laying and neither the seabrights. Little mama the biger one(not. still a pigeon to me) may lay every 2 days or so. But the rest are laying good and pretty big eggs too. Will the eggs freeze in the winter if I have to go to an appointment and not be able to collect until the afternoon? Just a ramdom thought that came to mind.

I had 4 thingy of straw and since Hub covered the outher sides of the coop so air does not flow under, I put them in their run and they made a big mess of them. It is all over the run. At least that kept them busy and warm with the exercise. Got some alfalfa hay for later in the winter so they can keep scratching and eating. It has been rather cold wind so they are not coming out. I am not staying outside in the cold wind. So, laugh all you want, I took a plastic shopping bag and pulled grass until it was full and took it to them. They were in heaven.

lilacs? redbug trees? who, how, when and where I need to be?

I have been kind of doing way to many things lately so computer time is almost non-existant. Please forgive me for disappearing some times. But anyone can send me a message and I can provide my number. I try to be a good bug!!! :idunno :frow
Well, have a good night you all!

Oh, ittybitty, I noticed Spanish at the end of your posts so I answered to you in Spanish.
