Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Well, I guess this is good news... Freya has worms, hook and whip. Hopefully when they are gone, the diarrhea will be gone as well.

This was her first vet appointment with our usual vet, and it went well. She didn't like the nail trim, but got it done. She has good range of motion, and the internals sound good too. Some vaccines, dewormer (fenbendazole), and a follow up in two weeks.

Is fenbendazole something I've seen people here talk about as a dewormer for chickens? It sounded vaguely familiar.
yes fenbendazole is one we use on chickens

Hi all and glad to see everyone mulling around getting ready for winter to arrive.

yesterday was a very nice day indeed. It was so nice to meet Mary and Lizette. Thank you again for your hospitality Mary. Working on the coop this weekend installing 2ply polycarbonate panels to the run for wind/snow protection. The JD people are coming on Tuesday to put the snow blower on the tractor. They should do that the first time right? I mean…i did buy a tractor for goodness sake. Would be nice to show me how to change the attachments in real time.🤦🏻‍♀️

hope things are going well for everyone.
All you have to do is snap your fingers and it gets done on its own. :lau
Wishful thinking here. Remeber I said that Ace called me on the way to meet you? Well, They are picking up my Husqvarna on Saturday (tomorrow) and install it and then bring it back. Once it is installed, I think I can figure out how to get it off,

Hi Everyone! Just a weird day for real.

Everywhere I drove by ,there were chickens almost on the road. So I came home and let them all out. Not snow on ground not too windy. They had a blast. They spent good 4 hours outside. Was surprised that Pixie was out just looking at them. I heard her barking and run out to see and the knuckleheads were in the front of the house messing with my mint. She kind of help gathering them to the back of the house and all was fine. I might not do it all the time because I get scared to have a peal harbor in my backyard. But then the Hub stopped by and I set him up in the laptop to have his appointment with MH. I am glad he did. He has many issues that consume him. Then I asked him to go with me to BK because I was not able to cook today and he did. Then I asked him if there was anything that he needed such as soap, shampoo and stuff and gathered some in a box for him. He said that he will work on his part and see where it all goes from there. I said it was ok becasue I would not want to share a roof with him in the same conditions and this time I was not wait for changes inside the circumstance. I have to see the real changes from the outside and see if I can accept him back. He said ok. So as they say, if it sounds too good, it is not. I am ok with that. He is stopping by on Sunday afternoon to put the solar lights inside the run and to put my Christmas lighted chicken on top of the house, :thumbsup I know, I could not resist that at TSC. :idunno;)

Well, Girls have been on coop since 430pm and I am ready for bed myself. I am becoming like my chickens, lol
Have a good night. Love ya all!

fenbendazole is a lovely drug, and is used for dogs and cats, and many other species, and kills a lot of different intestinal parasites; three days in a row for some, five to ten days in a row for others.
Mary
Fenbendazole (brand names Panacur®, Safe-Guard®) is a medication used to treat a variety of parasites (e.g., roundworms, hookworms, lungworm, whipworm, and certain types of tapeworms) in dogs. Its use in cats for the treatment of parasites is 'off label' or 'extra label'.
Found this description on the internet. I haven't looked up dosages yet. I suppose we all can do that on our own.

Yesterday was mostly a bust for chores. Too many interruptions. Then late afternoon I was a 1/2 mile away and my UTV would not start back up. Lee lives about 4 houses down from where I was so I walked to his house. Glad I had my cane for the walk. Lee drove me home and I fired up the tractor, took the rake of the i-Match, and grabbed the tow straps.

Drove back to the dead UTV and hooked up to it. So nice having a hydraulic lift. I cut through Lee's place and stopped for a "minute". That minute was 3-4 minutes long. I finally left after dark. Carefully got the machines home and unhooked. Of course the UTV fired right up once it was home. :he I'll have to figure out what the problem was and fix it. And do the chores that didn't get done yesterday.

Today is the semi-final for high school football. I'll be glued to the radio for the broadcast. If Ubly wins they go to Ford Field for the championship.

Go Bearcats! :wee:fl
