Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Just came in from blading the driveway and paths. There is maybe 4 inches total??? Not much.

While defrosting my fingers I see this pileated woodpecker on one of the suet feeders.

I have blue birds at my feeder:)
Now I'm jealous of you. I put up bluebird boxes where the power line runs. That area is cleared of trees but not enough for the bluebird's liking I guess. My neighbor is 1/4 mile away and they get a nesting pair every year. I made them a nesting box. They also have cardinals that I don't get here.
I have tons of other birds here so I'm not disappointed. I love bird watching. I guess I get that from my Dad. He always had feeders at the house. He died on this day 19 years ago. He would have loved this place.

It's about balance! We need complex carbohydrates, and fats, and the right amino acids in our diets. And we crave fat, sugar, and salt, because these items were hard to find for most of the time our species has been here. Now that all these nutrients are so readily available we want to overeat them!
I've learned to love green tea, and iced unsweetened tea, rather than colas. It took time, but so worth it!
Now about chocolate; it's the fifth food group, right?!
Mary
Mrs. Mary, yes chocolate is a vegetable. It comes from the cocoa plant.

Some hay for the horses and goats. I only went about half a mile with the load so no worries about it falling off. That's 40 bales of good hay on that little Toyota Tacoma. This was on Tuesday forenoon just before all this snow. I wouldn't have wanted to go five miles with the way it was loaded. It's probably about 1600lbs plus on there.

Troyer, how did you manage to stack that up so high? I bet you have some Korean workers there, I bet, lol
That was one of the things I saw in every highway while in Korea. They know how to efficiently pack a truck and they drive like crazy with only inches from other vehicles. Amazing as well as scary.
Rose and Mrs. mary, I am sorry for all that snow on your neck of the woods. not an inch in my area.
The girls are loving it because they love to escape every time I open the run to go in. It is cold and a bit windy so far. They have their cabbage still hanging in there. I now I know that I have to check the cameras early to make sure they are all in the coop. I know that they will be fine if they stay in the run but it will make me feel better kjnowing they are in teh coop. I do have a camera in the run but does not take under the coop area and I will not be able to see them down there.

Yes, to all that you guys have said about food. I am a pepsi addict. I have slowed down but cannot take it off. I will be probably the worse person ever if I do,lol I used to drink about 8 or 10 a day and now down to 4. I think that is pretty good for me. I am turning 61 in 3 weeks and it is hard for me to make changes especially when I have never developed the taste buds for anything els. However, I can go in fasting with no problem and probably because I know what I am trying to accomplish and it has nothing to do with diet nor health. Anyways, Got my Lisinopril today and I was reading teh label and started laughing so hard that almost pee on self. It says that it may make me dizzy. I am like, seriously??? I am having dizzy spells and I get medicine to make me dizzy. How does that makes math to me. Cannot put one plus the other next to each other. If anything it should make me alert instead of dizzy, lol

I will be busy from today until have no clue when. I have to find my old cell phone to charge them and get numbers and text messages. Cannot find Sally's info nor Rose or Mary. It is aggravating. I know frankiegirl has been pretty busy with work and new farm. Bless her heart. But have no clue where most of my information has gone.

I do have a question: The get together is for all BYC or only Michigan thread? Need to know if I need a shipment through Canada for eating utensils like plates cups, forks and the works, lol
