Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

@Dreamzchaser, I have a question that you might be able to answer.

A friend of mine went to Puerto Rico. She ended up with a million bug bites (she thinks) on her legs, probably when walking on the sandy beach. They itched like crazy, she said. She went to her dermatologist when she got home. She didn't find any bugs on her, and the Dr. had no idea what it might have been that bit her.

Any ideas what might have been chewing on her?
Depends on what time of year. No mites but I just thought as reading your post the it should be from the jelly fish. There is a time for them to be out and about and the waves throw them out to the sand and at night as the tide rises, they go back unless scorched by the sun. As for the itchy and maybe a little burn sensation, I will guess the jellyfish. Bed bugs are not on sand and we do not have sandy beaches, lol it is not like Bahamas all nice white sand. We have dark gray sand. Then again if it was bedbugs, must have some bites in her body and not just legs.

Her Dermatologist put in her chart that she had "suffered a massive arthropod attack."

It's interesting that you say they are attracted to some, but not others. No one else in her group was "attacked."
Same happens with mosquitoes. Something in oir body smell attrack some bugs more than others. In 60 yrs, never heard of sand fleas in PR. Yes in South America but never in PR. Will need to do another history search. Love history, lol

Ok, found it. They are called "mimes" they are smaller than flies and linger around until 9pm or so. They can be compared to gnats or fruit flies that are very tiny. Insects but not arthropods for they do not have 8 or 6 leggs I think.
Those suckers are a complete nuisanse. They might have sneaked in the ark,lol

I need to learn about this compost crap. I have nor been well and that is why I have been sporadic. Only on cell. Puter was in shop again because was still not able to print. Depressed because could not solve or find a way to solve a legal issue. Bp still not right and still getting dizzy spells and sometimes feel like hard to breathe. Anxiety for other stuff. My md is leaving. Good for him because he is going for his specialty in cardio but I have to start with another and it bothers me.a lot of feelimgs being exposed and trying to cope as best as I can. But on compost: I have piled up all chicken poop and chips with small tree limbs, leaves and they are in a corner that I have not touched in 2yrs. It is just there.
Then, I guess I have been either watching too much country tv (my girls) and I am not sure of P3. She can be scratching on the dirt, nothing in front of her. Then she justs backs up. Unsure if she is alzheimic that forgot what she was doing and needs to back track or she gets into a Michael Jackson moon walk lol

Then my Tamera(lil mama-sebright) has changed. They both molted in the winter. But she is no longer a golden laced sebright. Her feather ends are now white tips. I wonder if she was mixed with silver laced sebrights.
For your thoughts; I kind of would like more chickens and a roo. No roo calls my attention more tgan a white lace or lemon lace sebright. I think their posture is handsome and plain like a real stud. What do you think?.

Mrs. Mary, I am happy for your husband being able to come home. It must had been hard for you to deal with everything and also travel to Ohio to be with your Husband. I praise God for you and your husband and may he goes through a speedy recovery for the glory of the Most High God. I have my last appointment in Ann Arbor in June 13th and if you call me, I would love to stop by to see you and help in anything possible.

Apologies for those who do not care for this post regarding God.

That was probably it. Her trip was just a couple weeks ago.

Compost... do you have any stuff (leaves, dry grass) to rake up in your yard? Put that on the pile too.

Sorry you're not feeling 100%!

DH and I got a lot done today, and we're both feeling it. He split and stacked a lot of wood. I raked up some leaves, weeded 4 garden paths, raked some more, and turned the poop pile to make a new compost pile. The chickens got a bucket of weeds and a tote full of leaves. They're still scratching around in them.

Gee, when I type it out like that, it doesn't sound like much. My arms, legs, and back say otherwise.
