Chicken Stock is 3 weeks away.

Looks like I have a broody hen to go along with the ducks. My buff orp has been sitting on a nest for the last few days. Looks like I better stock up on chick feed.

Pain is still bad. However I managed to get 4 tomatoes on the ground and 8 red bell peppers. I had a raspberry bush for 3 years in a planter and barely gave any care, so today he is at his forever-home with 2 marigolds to help with pollination. I still have a lot to do but getting that sand out and putting organic mix is not a joke. Then the wheelbarrow barely works on the sand either,lol Let's see how far I can go.

I have all hens now. The pullets graduated to hen-hood today. And I think Widget is broody again.

Little, one of my older hens, actually stood on my lap for some spinach leaves today! Stormy will do that, but this is a first for Little. I tell them one of the payments for standing on my lap is I get to pet them. So I stroke them very softly with the backs of my fingers. Oh, I want a lap chicken who likes petting and cuddles...

We're having a fire in the wood stove tonight, like we did last night. I bet we have a few more this coming week. I don't mind at all!

I saw flower buds on a potato plant today. And it's going to be cool enough this week that I will plant some more kale. I haven't had good luck with it sprouting when it's hot.

3 weeks (from yesterday) to Chickenstock! I'm really looking forward to this.

I will be bringing a crockpot of food, so I'll need an electrical outlet. What time should I plan to be there? I am very happy to help set up.

Good day!
Another rainy day. Yesterday I made some black bean soup and it was so good. Today, I was able to go outside and planted 9 more bell pepper plants and put straw to hold that grass coming back near them. The chickens escaped for a bit then I noticed that one of my white leghorn (P2) was so dirty and with the rain she had become kind of like a brahma chicken,lol

All of it will be used or repurposed
