Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Well, all animals were inside including me. Did a bunch of tomatoes. Still have to simmer 2 12qtz pots, but I am exhausted 😩. Can I do that tomorrow?
Even the colander I used broke from so much squeezing with the potato smasher,lol Hub did the cleaning and at least the colander went straight to the trash can. I will save up and get me a machine for the squeezing, peeling,and seed removal. That can save me hours of manual work.

Will definately get me one,lol

On another note, Where is @RaZ? Out of 12 ducklings I am sure I have counted at least 5 that look like drakes so far but they are still molting their baby feathers. He got all the girls,lol

Finally was able to count the Drakes. I have 7 so that means I have 5 hens,lol
Forgot to put pictures of the canning. Did tomato sauce and spaghetti sauce. The rest will have to be whole tomatoes.

We also put a temporary fence to avoid these knuckleheads heading to the end of the fence and going into the woods that belong to the neighbor. I get scared of animals in there especially snakes. They already have the ducks following them past the pine tree towards the front of the house. Lol

Yes. Yes, I did. I got all girls here. ;) Your ducks should have all of their adult feathers by now. Look for the "drake" feather. It is usually one curled feather on their tails.

It looks like I am in full moult mode here. Egg output is low and there are feathers all over the yard. It also means that a full-blown coop clean out is in order. I just need a day or two to get after it. I hope to get it done before the end of the month. Work is interfering with that. We are short staffed there so I've been working nearly every day.

To make matters worse, I have a torn rotator cuff and a blown out knee. I can't get in to see the doctor until the end of the month. Meanwhile chores still need to be done and animals attended to. I'm so far behind in getting ready for winter.

Been awhile, new job, farm work, lots of animals, whew...never ends. Never a dull moment but lots of real friends here for the last decade plus. Anyone can come see the madness anytime they like. I think you have our number(s). Just let us know. PS, I still have a couple of baby goats that need homes!

Lots of work even today as is our anniversary. Anyways, funny thing happened;
New cockerel, PJ, dance around his mom! :eek: No respect!
She is no longer mama,she became a hen today again. Laid her egg and she wants to be with sis and Pitbull,so she is in the back. New kids are with the old girls. This is gonna be fun that mama cannot defend,lol I bet they will roost on top of the fan,lol
