Warm enough for a window open!

Gorgeous day! And one of my tomato seeds has sprouted in the green house. With the warm weather we're supposed to have this week, there should be more soon.

Welp another good weathered day and because we have to dig and level the area for the coop by hand my mom suggested taking the chicks out over there so they can dig through the leaf litter. And because we will be tossing around dirt I think the chicks will enjoy it. It'd be nice if they could share their enjoyment with me because I'll be the one digging most of it. I'm dreading it. When I helped my sister in law we were on semi flat ground so we only had the go down about 2-3 inches but it took switching between 3 people for a 7 hours in fall to get it done.

Ended up only taking 4 of the 12 out. They are older and it was getting windy so we didnt want the youngers to get chilled but the older four seemed to enjoy it. They ate some bugs and dug around in the dirt we were digging in.

Howdy everyone
I finally got my 7 pullets *outside* this week. So much dust to clean up in the house.
Installing a chicken door saturday, any advice on that welcome. We have 2 JG and a couple chubby oprps. Working on figuring out layout of dutch barn shed coop to accommodate 24 hens...the most hens I've ever had is 10.

In the last 3 days 95% of our snow has melted. The temperatures have been in the upper 50s to low 60s. Now we are at risk of wildfires due to warm air, no snow cover, and a dry wind. Fastest and weirdest spring ever. Very much looking forward to green up.
And my crocuses are blooming

We are having a heat wave! And no complaints, except that next week will be more 'normal', so cooler.
Our first Cackle chick order was shipped today! May they arrive soon!
I will have chicks for sale if all goes well, by June.

I'd prefer the temps to stay between 45 and 75 all year around

I'm over 80 tempsI need cooler temps. Especially since every single day I've been working on building our coop. Specially with my mother. Its to hot and were both driving each other insane. Her more so than me cause shes ignoring everything I suggest. I'm just ready for cool temps. I'm a winter girl through and through.
