Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

We got a dusting of snow. But the mud is all frozen again. That's nice for walking Freya on our dirt road.

When it's muddy, her undercarriage gets all splattered.

Oh, I do love not slipping in the mud on my way to the run 🤣 Wish we could get grass growing there. Frozen ground helps.

Would you want to have to go downstairs to get to the freezer? Personally, that would be my biggest problem.
In the basement, yes, a full flight.
In the garage, only about three steps.

In our other houses, I've liked going to the basement for things like the pantry, extra kitchen equipment like pans or dishes or appliances, and laundry. Partly, it frees up space in the kitchen - I really like not having lids fall out when I open a cabinet door. Or having to lift off a stack of one kind of thing to get to a different kind. Or pull a front row of things to see a back row. In a basement, I can see everything at once. Besides, steps are good exercise.

But, I am old enough now that one of the reasons we picked this house is it has a shower on the main floor. Just in case either of us break something. We can set up a bed in the living room as needed but sponge baths and bucket showers as the only options to hopping up the stairs is ....less than attractive.

I think I will put the freezer in the garage.

Partly the stairs. Partly that we have professional movers this time but probably wont next time; I don't want to figure out how to get it back up. The movers will have the right kinds of dollies and straps and such.

Thanks everyone, for helping me off the fence about it.
