Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I usually love shoveling. Fresh air, exercise. Not today. Heavy wet snow and constant bombardment of snow falling off trees on my head and down my jacket. Any one shoveling in w.mi today be careful of your backs. Those couple inches are deceiving!
Ok and now I need some advice. I have a hen (isa brown) that has been in quarantine since fall. I moved her because of some funny sounding breathing and a swollen eye. 2 rounds of Tylan and respitory issues seem to have faded, but her eye is still swollen and seems to be getting worse. We also had an egg binding issue last month ( was able to get it all cleaned out. Gross ). I'm afraid she's just going to have more issues. And I don't take this lightly as she is my first chicken and spent many hours as a baby snoozing on dh's shoulder. I love her to death, but I'm afraid she's just going to have more issues. And I have little ones in my office and more on the way that are going to be introduced to my flock. I just want everybody healthy and happy. I think I know the answer but I guess I need reassurance I'm doing the right thing. Thanks everyone.

We have a small flock and a small run. It's 8 ft. long, 4 feet wide, and 3.5 feet tall. Snow started falling this winter about the same time we were replacing our shower curtain liner. So, that got stapled on the southwest corner of the run. It's really cut down on the wind and snow in their run, is clear, water doesn't bother it, and we'll just recycle it in a few weeks.
yeah, our run is decent size...kind of a boxy U shape with the coop in the middle, and at the top of the U. I'm looking for something a bit more permanent. Right now we have tarps on one section to keep our dog from staring/charing/barking at them all the time when he's in the back yard. We have a breeze pretty much all the time where we're located.

Arrgghh, no more pictures!!! I love it!! And I wants it!!! I love those barns for their history, and shape, and still have their usefulness.

Sorry! Wasn't trying to torture you

I have a strange request for you MI folks. Does anyone close to mid MI have any chicks that were hatched this week? My cousin has a photography business who will be taking Easter pictures this weekend and she wants me to bring some chicks and rabbits. I have the rabbits covered and thought I would have the chicks as well, but the eggs that were to hatch this past Monday didn't. PLEASE PM ME IF YOU HAVE ANY. I would be willing to purchase them from you, but even if I could borrow them for you and return them after this coming weekend would work too. Thanks

I think treating a bird that needs it isgood. Wanting everyone healthy and happy is a good wish too. Thinking it will come to pass is a stretch, from my observations, won't happen. But, wanting is good anyway.

Snow was much to wet for my snowblower. Fortunately the neighbor has a blade on his quad and has just finished doing my drive for me. Went the morning and picked up some ISA brown pullets from TSC. They've gone up in price this year $2.99 each.
