Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I did a bad, bad thing... My mom keeps asking if I'll have eggs for eating in spring. I told her that I'm trying to focus on breeding programs for show birds and rare birds. Well, I went to the feed store and they had 99 cent chicks. So, I bought 6 in hopes of having a small flock of layers. :p

OK. I'll have my husband re-program the timer tonight so that it comes on in the morning as well as in the evening.

My poor little polish girl is almost completely bald now. Poor thing. I'm completely at a loss as to what to do about it. Both she and my houdan are getting all of their crest feathers plucked out, leaving their poor heads with bloody feather shafts poking up. I'm guessing I'll have to separate them if I want their cute little puff-ball crests to grow back?

Have you tried the anti peck stuff?

On Wednesday I'm hoping to fish the Grand between the north and south Lansing dams for both steelhead and walleye. On Thursday I'll probably fish the Huron below Flatrock for steelhead.
ohhh Walleye is my favorite! Steelies are a close second. No time for fishing for me until the first week in April. Good luck, let me know how you do!

Y'all are chicken enablers...after seeing the cute fluffy pics and talking about hatching eggs and new chicks and such....I went to FFAH with my girls after dance class and we came home with 3 cornish cross and 2 EE's! Pics in the morning...I'm off to bed now!

Ha ha ha!!! I kept telling myself I would not come home from the feed store with chicks. I broke today too. Congrats on the new ones!!!

The sun will be rising in a little over 2 hours so I guess it's time to put the first pot of coffee on to brew. The weather report doesn't sound quite as ominous as it did yesterday. Probably won't get enough to bother with shoveling it since the next few days will be warm enough to melt away what falls.
