Who does Fermented Feed here?

I feed everybody Fermented feed (peas, guineas, turkey, ducks, geese, & chickens & quail). It will be a lot easier once I figure out how to drain it more efficiently. I'm thinking of a press of some kind. Once the culture gets a good start it really will ferment (ground feed & crumbles & wheat at least) in 24 hours you just have to be careful to keep it covered in water, as the kind of ferment you need going is anaerobic.

Someone was asking about runner ducks- I bought eggs on ebay and had a really good hatch from them. For a friendly duck, muscovies are great. My runners were skittish.

Stacykins - I hope your girl does ok as she loses her toes. I have only had it on a guinea. After she lost the toe it was like her foot changed shape (widened) so she was able to walk.
Who does Fermented Feed here?

I've been doing it since last fall. I don't mind doing it and they love it.

We've seen robins up here about two weeks. They showed up before the bare ground did. But this week I have seen the cranes and they don't usually come until things really are thawing out. Today is supposed to be about 40 and sunny. After all the snow yesterday

I will be happy with it.
I have four baby cochins who hatched out early. They are just adorable. I hope to get some cute pictures.

yeah Snowflake!
Soooooooooo......... whats the benefit of fermented food? Will it save me money on wasted feed? Cause I have a lot of that, wasted feed.... not money!
There is a new bee keeping club forming for Lenawee and Jackson county if anyone is interested I'll post the info. (it starts tomorrow in Napoleon MI). We finished assembling our hive last night, so this weekend we'll get the area outside prepared and set up. I want to put up a couple sections of privacy fence to help block the wind in winter time. I don't want to be installing a fence next to an active hive! Bees arrive on May 4th!!
I started seeing robins in February down here......I feel bad for them coming up so early with no food available for them. We're suppose to be in the mid to upper 50's this weekend......... storms expected Monday. Hopefully that won't mean more snow for the northern folks!
Fellow artists and students of my friend that passed away are talking about a collaboration art piece to be installed on campus, to honor him.. I'll be participating in some fashion.. I don't have a studio, but I can share ideas and dig holes! LOL!
TGIF!
