Tap, maybe some VetRx? Its natural, so... you wouldn't be dumping antibiotics in him that you don't need if there is no snot or puffy face. Don't know if you've used it before, but it smells like vicks, but for chickens. Can use it orally, or just on the back of their necks.

My son now wants a SF... great...

Happy Birthday to the Birthday boys

hope we get to see a pic of the chicken cake

:D gonna refrain from commenting on the watering system dilemma, but rest assured i've gotten more than a few giggles in private while reading this last month!

Some pics of the flock, pardon the poo; i had to take the pics before the batteries got cold, i do scrape clean
every day, but this is before i cleaned!

Hey, what did you do to the yard??? ( I had to shove them out, to let the little birds eat in peace :p )

The water system i settled with for now, a rubber bucket and a cast-iron de-icer loop, 250 watts. It is keeping the water warmer than i expected, but not too hot and isn't heating the bottom up, so all is well i think. They seem to enjoy it, the dog dish i had last year kept it barely de-iced, and it was always very cold!

maurice

he's a ham, proud and always ready for attention; the d'uccle girls beat
him up on a regular basis and he's still trying to figure out how to
be in charge; he sure is a beauty!!!

sissy

Drinking her fill, they do eat and drink while the EEs are in there but they enjoy it
very much with them out, and then they rule over the EE babies

sharma, booted bantam, adopted mother to the d'uccles
(she is giving the stink eye, somehow the camera is a fearful and dangerous thing)
Though small she is #2 in flock order of the EE's! Believe it or not she rules over
cookie, the big gold and black girl!

My fall hatchlings, still on the small side and barely bigger than the d'uccles???
They keep yanking each other's tail feathers, though i feed them very well and don't let the dishes go empty? The blue and the gold ones are my two favorites :)

The gold is my last hen's egg i hatched
They eat while the EE's are in there, but they enjoy a fresh scoop of food. No matter how full, they get all excited when a new batch arrives!

Hi momma. Watcha doing?

love all the pics, I am impressed with the hens in the snow, mine refuse to walk in it

I got 4 seed catalogs yesterday, has any one ordered from Shumway's? there prices are good and the post is the lowest so far

Ok... Here is the cake. Yes, there is a beak too, but it doesn't show upas well as I had hoped. I ended up resorting to a paint brush to get some definition in. Not the best looking cake I am sure, but hello, I have never made a chicken on a cake before. LOL

Love it!! I will have to have you make me one for my b-day!
