My son took these pictures after I found him carrying the pheasant around. When I went out to see what was up the pheasant was in the chicken yard with the chicken eating away and none of the roosters had any problem with him. I am very nervous about wild birds and what "nice" things they may share with the chickens. He is not scared and won't leave at this point. Ideas? My son is already begging to keep him. We have a nearby shooting preserve so I'm sure he came from there.![]()
What wild pheasant lets someone carry it around???![]()
I wondered why there was a picture of a pheasant on the photos section. Sure are pretty. When we used to drive from 2 Paws to Muskegon frequently, we would see lots of them in and around Hamilton next to M 40. Jo & I both born in Muskegon. I graduated from WMU & taught for 8 years in Paw Paw HS
I have questions.
Any fly tiers in the forum?
I used to. Maybe will again. Lots of hackles and saddle feathers available now.
Is any extra care needed to keep blood off the feathers to be used for flies?
I've used road kill of various types and feathers from game but not from fresh killed chickens. Have six expendable cockerels to quiet down.
Any ideas?
Sorry if I offended anyone.
