Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I did get most of it home, I had Kelly come sit with the car with 4ways while I ran home to get the horse trailer. We packed it in with help from a friend, who happened to live next door to where it fell. A cop stopped and so did my heart. I thought for sure I was going to be ticketed but so far no ticket :) He even helped us load it in. Only lost a little bit, would have had to get a broom to sweep up what was left. The ponies were confused when they saw the trailer full of food pull in LOL

Whew! Glad you were able to get it picked up with minimal loss.

Got my hoop roof fixed up nice and good. The snow is now sliding right off and no sagging. WOOT! Was a pain in the neck and shoulders, but no one ever said I wasn't up for a challenge. I also got laughed at by a hispanic man and an older hillbilly (I can say hillbilly, cuz I am one) said I was a good wife for figuring out how to get the lumber home in my jeep... hmmm...

What's so funny about that? I thought thats why window rolled up and down...

I'm with you Nova, except I'm using a honda civic coupe. Which I guess could explain why I overheard myself described "as that crazy lady that lives on Millington Rd", and from the conversation, the person on the other end of the telephone line, recognized me by the description.
The worst I've ever done was hauling 20' lengths of pvc. I'm ready for spring..

There is a feed store down here Holland way that has organic feed. I forget where Juise said it was... I am not sure where there is one in Muskegon... I think though that it is on Bluestar, there is a feed place right around there, just after you get off the highway at that exit... I can try and get ahold of her and see unless she pops in to answer in the next day or so...

I don't know if this has been answered yet or not, but I get organic mash at Piers Feed. I don't know if they have pellets or not, but they keep the organic feed in back, so you will need to ask.

So chickens were doing well today. No eggs though

Sooooo I had to go get hay for the horses, that was interesting. As anyone else on here knows hay is very expensive this year. The only I can find in my area is around bales that are running $100. That will last me a whole 2 weeks... Well on my adventure this is what happened...

Never had an issue before but it must have just had enough ice on the bed of the truck to let is slide right out... Soooo it can only get better right?.
that has to be the worst hay spill I have seen, often see a bale on the side of the rd. that had to be upsetting to say the least. glad you were able to get help recovering it

My have missed it, are we doing T-shirts or bags for CS?......I would like a T if we are

Turns out I got a concussion yesterday. I was carrying a load of wood, slipped on ice, and because of the load in my arms, fell forward. Yep, facefirst into my stack of logs. One nailed me in the throat, so I feel (and look) like I got punched in the throat. And my head got hit too. Bruises everywhere. But since, I've been in a bit of a fog and have had a headache. A doctor today confirmed, and said if the headache gets worse, go to the ER.

Hey All, I have been away from chickens for awhile, and unfortunately this forum as well. We are looking for a new place with more space (yard space and hopefully less house space) so I can get back into my much missed chickens. In fact, we may be moving nearer to you Opa. Glad to see everyone is well and hope to be seeing you more in the near future.

I was looking at a few houses in South Lyon... Some of them, I can't believe they are going for so cheap!!! Good luck in your search!
Here I sit in AZ the weather is beautiful, but I really miss home and my chickens! Going home on February 6th. I don't think I would want to live here weather the same everyday and nothing is green, just a bunch of rocks.
