Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I did get most of it home, I. Only lost a little bit, would have had to get a broom to sweep up what was left. The ponies were confused when they saw the trailer full of food pull in LOL

Good thing you were able to get it home. Good hay is priced like gold now. I paid $ 13. for a bale for the chickens "green" yesterday. What does a Bale about 3ft long by about 2ft square weigh ?
I'm with you Nova, except I'm using a honda civic coupe. Which I guess could explain why I overheard myself described "as that crazy lady that lives on Millington Rd", and from the conversation, the person on the other end of the telephone line, recognized me by the description.
The worst I've ever done was hauling 20' lengths of pvc. I'm ready for spring..

Reminds me of childhood days when Mom, Dad, and us kids went to the channel at muskegon to fish perch, long cane poles sticking out the side of the "passenger side" toward the back of the 1940 Mercury sedan. Great times!

Also, I think of the time, two years ago when at the lumber yard, in our first ever brand new car, and stuck an 8 foot furring strip into the upholstery. yep , little tear, PM Off. Truck was 2 miles away at home. Purchase not essential. Can you spell dummy ?
Turns out I got a concussion yesterday. I was carrying a load of wood, slipped on ice, and because of the load in my arms, fell forward. Yep, facefirst into my stack of logs. One nailed me in the throat, so I feel (and look) like I got punched in the throat. And my head got hit too. Bruises everywhere. But since, I've been in a bit of a fog and have had a headache. A doctor today confirmed, and said if the headache gets worse, go to the ER.
At least you did not do it twice in one day. Hope you heal fast. Take care.

Um, RaZ! Can you come over help me???

I have been working on this project in our woods, clearing out the very over grown honeysuckle bushes, and trying to thin out some trees to encourage the grass to grow for the cows to graze. An expert would be nice...

Stacy- Hope that you feel better soon.

Tjbeckman- Glad that you were able to salvage the hay! Yup, they sure are pricey. Glad that I work for this hay farmer in the summer, so get really nice dairy hay at a discount price for my labor. Thank God!

First time experience today! Got to plow the driveway out! We got about 10-12in of snow last night, so while the baby was taking his nap, I went out and get most of the yard cleaned up, the driveway cleared, and the mess from the county plow around the mailboxes cleaned up. I watched my dad plow when I was growing up at home, so I have a pretty good idea of what you're *supposed* to do, but I'd never actually driven the truck.

Chickens are dust-bathing in the pine shavings this morning. I'm considering shoveling some of their run out so that when all this snow starts melting on Sunday they will have some bare ground to get outside and walk on. Shoveling powder = a happier back than shoveling wet heavy snow.

I've got a 3rd roo trying to crow. The EE has the most "normal" sounding one so far, and one of the wyandottes is getting there (his is pretty much one tone) and the 3rd sounds like a party favor.

I had a large tree go down in my dog pen in this last windy day we had. If anybody lives close to Millington and needs wood, its yours but will need to be cut up to get it out. I don't know enough about trees to know what kind it is, but probably either box elder or beech.

While at the feed store yesterday, I asked if the mgr. knew of anyone wanting a rooster, he did, but when we called the guy, turns out he had just gotten one. He did say he recommended we keep him though. Said a roo makes the hens happier and eggs better. Is that iyo true. OR bs????
