Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

My Welsummer pullets are laying now, So are some of the others. Don't know who. I don't wanna look a gifting hen in the mouth though, so guess i don't care

Life has not been complicated enough, so I bought a Cannon Eos 60D. It is replacing a camcorder that died and my old point and shoot digital Sony. Batteries are dieing and replacement is $125 now. New one is a DSLR ,18-135 mm lens. Complicated but reminds me of the 35mm Minolta we used for many years. film ----died.

Bobry, That is a nice camera, and what I want to upgrade o in the near future...like whenever I win the lotto. Mine is a 20d, love having the dslr, and in my camera class a couple have the newer ones with digitial displays-they are fancy!

Well, here is my doe!!!

I let my friend name her. Its Tomesol Tomato! Its a type of white tomato. :D

1000

I know, she is all white. Boring. But she is better than no goat at all! I will need to figger out what is her favorite food/treat so I can tame her somewhat. She will be staying at the neighbor's half a mile away, until Spring, then I will walk her home. :)

I grew some of those and they were very good!

I was laughing so hard at that goat yelling video, I barely made it to the bathroom. We had a cocker many years ago that would say "WHO." Then she do it again several minutes later "WHO."

Since I was usually alone cleaning the kennel, it would scare the daylight out of me - before I realized it was here. She said it clear as day. In dog talk it probably meant something else.I re-homed her and she scared her new owners pulling the "WHO." trick again.

l woke to a infomercial on the television for an extreme exercise program. Sat and watched it for a few minutes and it made me want to go back to bed. There was a time when I was in the kind of shape where every muscle showed. Now those same muscles occasionally ache just to remind me that, while hidden, they are still there.

Hope is up and in the kitchen baking a Double Decadence Chocolate cake for her grandson. The 13th was his 5th birthday but we are celebrating it today. His Dad and sister are finishing their Hunter Safety class today and will come here when it's over. So later today I will go get him and his mother so we can have dinner together.

We've got a spiral sliced ham to go with the candied sweet potatoes and corn casserole but since Hope asked him what he wanted to eat for his birthday dinner she will also be
fixing hot dogs with mac and cheese.

Just came in from watering the birds and the cold cuts right through to the bone. I think I'll spend the afternoon reading and trying to stay awake til bedtime.

Supper tonight is going to be egg noodles in a mushroom sauce and leftover smoked chicken mixed in. It's amazing how many different dishes can be prepared using smoked chicken. I think that we only have one or two smoked and vacuumed sealed chickens in the freezer so I quess that I had better contemplate smoking some more.
mmmmmmmmmmmm.... smoked chicken, Chickenstock, Sam...they have all become synonymous.

Brought wee man home today........ OMG......... I'm in love! He's so sweet! We picked up a portable play pen at a consignment store works perfect, and will be great for future bottle babies! DH has been very very supportive of my insanity and thought the play pen was a great idea! It went from baby staying in the garage or basement to he's now in the living room where I planned all along....... darn I'm good!. :D
he is so adorable!!! Your chair is not on fire is it, in the picture? Congrats on the baby goat...let me know if he starts talking like the ones in the video!

hahahaha...they have the same effect on me. Too bad they cant speed up the metabolism just by watching them.

Is she doing any better, or was the stress to much?

I missed a couple days; We went out to eat at the golden corral thursday night for valentines day and friday night i woke up and proceeded to get sick for 5 hours straight. Spent yesterday stuck in bed, too weak to get up at all :( Didn't feel like the flu, no fuzzy head or anything just awfull pain in the gut; i don't recommend that place. Serves me right, DH was hesitent to go there in the first place because he said he'd seen it on the news.......never been sick eating somewhere before so i payed it no mind. :( Bleh
