Thanks Nova, and to those others who responded![]()
Sorry you guys are all getting such muckle wather out there. We had rain today, and wind, but it's really very warm, almost 40 I think. I had to go and show a property - I wish folks would let me know before I make the journey that they can't afford it. I'm fed up with people asking me if I'll "work" with them. This is my job, just like other people have jobs. Sorry for the rant. It wouldn't have been so bad but I hate driving in this wather.
I will not get tired of goat pictures!
My doe is almost a year old. I think that she was born in March or April. I thought that dairy breeds only cycle in the fall? She is Lamanacha Saanen cross. It would be great that I can get her bred to kid in the fall! But can she be bred again to kid in the following spring/early summer?

Either a box or carrier would be fine.
Raz, a truly excellent egg.
Isolate one hen with him for ? 8 wks? to assure no disease is transmitted. If you don't do anything else. Not sure of time quarantined.Hi there again! I have a quick question, that may seem odd.
I had to get rid of my rooster. I had named him Han Solo, and he is missed, but he turned out to be very aggressive, and we could not get him to calm down enough that we could keep him. He has a new home, and is actually very happy there. He seems to be very mellow when he does not have hens around him.
Anyway, we are getting another rooster from someone very nearby. I think it is about a 15 minute drive, so that is the longest the rooster will be in the vehicle. I am wondering how I should transport him? I do not have a carrier, but I have heard that using a cardboard box is okay, especially for short trips. What do you think? Also, is there anything I should know about introducing him to my hens?
