Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I was selling an old jeep one time, and the first guy who came out didn't have the money for it, and wanted me to "work" with him. Um. Sorry, I can't do that. I would entertain offers, but the work with just doesn't do it for me. I would hate to have that over property. If you know you can't afford the cost, don't look at it to begin with. It is just rude to waste peoples time like that.

Do we have to shovel out our coops? Is it better if we do?

My Jersey Giant hen is laying on some eggs my guess is she will have chickies in a week or so, well when I was out there I was checking on her eggs one had a dent in it, not all the way through does anyone know if it will make it?

Naglady, I too am so very happy that you received good news. Having been thru something similar w/ DD, I must say there is no worry quite like the worry a parent faces when dealing with a child's health... I will say that your experience does underscore the need for every student athlete to get EKGs along with their annual sports physicals to rule out cardiac conditions that can result in sudden arrest. Spread the word to everyone you know!

:thumbsup

been pretty busy the last couple of days.. not on here  much. lots of catching up to do..

welcome to all the new people

I took my 16 yr old son to the Emergency Room wednesday for chest pain, he had a irregular ekg.. they did cardiac workup.. and decided he had pericarditis. which is inflamed outer lining of his heart.. so yesturday had to call and make a appt with a pediatric cardiologist in saginaw. which is 2 1/2 hrs away.. he did a ekg and said it was normal yesturday day so that was good news.. and from the cardiac ultrasound he said there wasnt any fluid around his heart and looked good. so my son hasnt been to school since monday. my poor son, he is on the swim team and there end of year big 2 day swim meets was this weekend and he cant swim it.. plus he is one of the faster swimmers on the team.

I am just greatful he is doing better.. and not in pain anymore and getting better..

pretty scary..

Another cold lazy day. I go back to work on Monday. I was really thinking that I would have my coop finished this week, but noooo! DH and I have been discussing it. He really thinks 4x8. LOL he is already thinking we may have more than 3 or 4 birds

I think if I build it now, I won't be able to paint it and I don't want bare wood sitting out in the weather. I guess I could always heat the garage when I am ready to paint. This weather makes me lazy and indecisive LOL.

Sells pizza ovens.......... hmmmmmmmmmm whats the pizza place called? I'd love to have an outdoor po! :D
I think it's called Northern Pizza.

HUH? Did he get hit in the head? How can you have too many coops?
With the new pizza coop (which I plan to divide into 2 breeding pens) and the large garden shed we re-made and added on to this past summer (4 pens off of it ) We now have 8 coop/pens plus I have 2 stalls and a tractor that can be used. We should be good until we add more breeds - maybe next year

Good morning! Did I beat Opa yet for posting first??? If so. Yay!!! lol

Hi Ho Hi Ho off to work I go! Be back about 8 am. Enjoy the rest of your night's sleep!

Morning all, including all you new faces. I have been out of commission for the week, in bed thanks to what my family lovingly shared with me. My loyal pup slept at the foot of my bed all week to keep an eye on me. I'm feeling chicken deprived and a bit nervous

as my husband waded the snow every day to care for them. It's the longest I've been separated from my chickens, except for vacation.

I think if you all remember back I was hating winter about a month ago and voiced it here and elsewhere. I was scoffed at by many. I am happy to say my opinion has now become popular. I am no longer the only one hating winter!

Thought you might like this link. I think they may be hating it worse than me. http://blog.chicagoweathercenter.co...ies-upper-michigan-the-effect-of-lake-effect/

I have loved looking at all the pictures of chicks. I have A button quail egg in lock down. Yes, I know only one. The mother is broody again and we will slip it under her if it hatches. If not she gets to sit on more eggs. Also the rest of the chicken eggs are due to hatch next week so hopefully I'll have my own fuzzy butts to take pictures of.

Stacy sorry about your girl. I was just looking at pictures of a friends new lambs and wondering if you have baby goats coming soon?
