Bento, a friend is someone who lifts you up and stands by you. This person does not fit that description. Maybe there would be less tension in your home if you kicked her OUT. So sorry to hear about your birds.

Are you kidding me I love love JG's way better then barred rocks they are so calm and pretty when their feathers are grown in. Black with a iridescent green. They are big and they eat a lot, at least two years before they mature. Love my Jersey'sok i just figured out that my 3 barred rock chicks i purchased from tsc that are getting close to a month old, are probably not what i thought they were, sign on bin showed barred rock.. i am guessing its jersey giant.. these 3 are all black, white down underside.. and black legs with yellow soles.. so i am kinda disappointed.. was really wanting the barred rock that is the only reason why i got 6 more chicks from them..
does anyone have jersey giants.what do you think of them..
well i am sure i will get used to the idea of not having barred rocks.. live and learn, i guess its meant to be..
does tsc carry french copper maran chicks because these look like those also.
JG's beaks are black
front black and white..? no white on head like the others.
this one now that i look closer may be barred rock.
my white leghorn was posing so i snapped a picture, they seem pretty friendly
this brown one is a mystery chick anyone know what it is
here another pic of mystery chick
is this beginning of barring.. if it is i may have a barred rock.. maybe i have 2 of them.. is this what they look like when they are young..
Hi Jake, he broke his leg I am sure from jumping off the roost, but I had grabbed him by his leg to catch him and sprined it or something so he was favoring that one. Oh well live and learn I guess.Hi Kimmie
What was wrong with your rooster?
I havent been on here for about a year now.
Who is going to the Alma show on May 4th?
Where in Alma is it held? I am planning on going.
Is there a special breed for Fly Tying hackles?
I had thought it was about all breeds that are used, but what do I know?
Jake
So we have been toying with gettting goats for a few months. Well, today during my daily Craigslist check I found a Nubian/Fainting doe, already bred to a Nubian buck, ready to birth in the next few weeks... she was FREE! So Guess where I went LOL
Bentominion, Well... Heres what I'd do... get rid of the friend first... Second, get a coated chicken wire, and line your whole coop floor with it around the whole perimeter. I would not have a problem driving to your place to help you with the security problem on your coop/shed/whatever. If you have to get rid of them for sure, I am not so much interested in the quail, but I wouldn't have a problem taking the other chickens. I have enough wood from the wood I just picked up for free to build 2 coops.
I am going to guess that you've either a weasel that got in or a raccoon. I am also going to guess it's going to be back tonight or tomorrow. Sorry for your losses. Those types are always a hard one to deal with.
LOL! I saw that ad and had to restrain myself from going to get her. I don't have the right fencing for goats, thank goodness, or I would have gone ahead. Good luck - can't wait to see pics!
