So I'm in need of a quick answer. I went out to feed/water the meat chickens (who are 1 month old today) and I was noticing more than usual red stuff in the poop. I know that cecal (spelling?) poop can be red, but it just seemed like more "red" than what I would consider 'normal.' I have NOT fed medicated feed because I can't get it in a high enough protein for them (and we haven't had any issues with coccidia before, and haven't fed medicated feed to any of the others), and now i'm paranoid that they have coccidia. My question is, what can I get from TSC to put in their water to treat for it? I was trying to avoid meds as much as possible, and we're only 1 month from butchering, so something that doesn't have a withdrawl period would be good. Everyone is still perky and up and around at this point......

I have to go to work this morning, and can stop at tsc on my way home to pick up whatever I need.......
 
When it rains, it freakin floods! First my scovy hen and now one of my blue marans pullets. I have no idea what or how this happened but she has a broken wing! Her left wing appears to be broken at the shoulder. She was laying on her back kund of to her left side with her left wing extended when I went out to feed this morning. The underside of her wing was bloody - I don't know if the other chicks did it or not. There's not really anything she could fall from except for the feeder itself (which is usually knocked over every morning).
I cut the sleeve off of one of my shirts and put it over her to keep the wing immobile. I bluecoted the underside to prevent infection. I've separated her from the rest of the chicks. She falls to her right when she walks though which worries me, too. I know I should probably cull her but I would rather try to rehab her. Even if her wing is never fully functional, I can make special accomodations for her or she can become a house chicken. Any help would be appreciated!

Corid is used for cocci and no withdrawal for eggs so should be OK, it is a 5 day in the water treatment 2t in a gallon of water, If my dose is wrong I am sure some one will correct

to bad you don't have a night cam, I would suspect maybe a rat or some other predator

it doesn't seem like the chicks would be doing it to themselves.
