A couple of non-standard things that I keep on hand:
Superglue - quick wound closure
Rubber cement - I've used it on myself to close a wound but hurt when peeled off. May not be good on critters.
Skin-so-soft - Mosquito and fly repellent.
Petroleum jelly - leg mites
Honey - good for burns and abrasions.

Everyone should also have a fire extinguisher handy and an emergency plan for humans and animals that are under your care.
